One thing that I noticed, is that Constantinus' shield bears the Chi-Rho, a Christian symbol. I know that it's the default for a Roman faction leader and there might not be much you can do about it, but have you thought abut commissioning a modder to redo it so the shield is an eagle or something like that? Other than that, I'm very keen for this series!

Brilliant. Truly brilliant. The way you sometimes present these stories as historical documents is really fun, and that argument with the priest was priceless. If you can keep this up through the whole series it could very well wind up even better than Massalia Tales, and that's my favourite LP series ever. Oh, and let's not forget Nariko's Treasure... y'know what? I've just realized how much enjoyment I get out of all your stories. Subscribing! I'm amazed it took me this long.

This is cool! I've been a longtime fan of Jack Whyte's "Dream of Eagles" novel series, which (I think) is broadly comparable with what Devin's going to be doing with Fields of Mars. I have good experience playing the Romans on Legendary. In the early game the Cohors javelins are extremely good against low armoured units and in a defensive siege I normally place the Cohors on the walls and fire death on the enemy when they have mobbed together. On an economical note. You will find a lack of economical buildings that actually give money so I suggest an aqueduct in the main province and trade harbors wherever you can spare the food. I would not recommend this when playing the Western Romans as they need the food but since you are the mighty Britons you can afford the food most likely. On your glorious campaign I suggest when you choose to liberate Rome that you strike the provinces of Hispania as the local tribes still remember the tales of the Roman Republic and their gods and so they will submit their men and their gold.
