Not gonna lie, but considering how a lot of people mistreated Peter in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie trilogy, it was actually quite satisfying to see Peter (under the influence of the black symbiotic suit) stand up to those who gave him a hard time in the past, including Mary Jane, Harry Osborne, J. Jonah Jameson, and Peter's landlord as well too.

I think we really see the power of the Symbiote here in so many ways but we see another dynamic as well. When Peter fought Green Goblin Norman Osborn was not really a spring chicken but the serum he took did make him really strong but a younger person would likely be much more difficult to fight. Fast forward to Spider-Man 3 and we get JUST that, Harry being much younger takes the serum and along with his hatred is a much more dangerous Goblin and Peter struggles to beat him early in the film getting lucky that Harry cracked his noggin. However the rematch with Peter in the symbiote suit does win but Harry still puts up a respectable fight. Im not so sure Peter would have been able to beat him without the symbiote.

It's like, when the movie came out, nobody recognized the fact all the ladies were looking at him like he was a total loser. That was the point of the whole "dance scene" venom AMPLIFYING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF ITS HOST! Peter is a geek! They are showing us what peter THINKS is cool.
