"I hope your still here with me after these stories" are you fucking kidding me? I would listen to 24 straight hours of this shit. Whoever runs this channel for Sammy tell him we want MORE DOC STORIES. I mean these stories are from an America we just no longer live in. I love hearing about the way things used to be, particularly in just small awesome moments like these. We've all had "those great nights" at our favorite bar but I have a feeling Sammy has forgotten nights 10,000x cooler than any I've had lol

Hey, my dad was a truck driver in Brooklyn. I remember one Christmas in the late seventies. Me and my brother got no presents that year, Cause my dad lost all his Christmas shopping money. He told my mother he thought his pocket got picked at a diner. My mother thought he lost it gambling. But I remember like yesterday, my dad said he lost eighteen hundred dollars. He was really upset. And told us he was sorry so many times. We felt bad. Me and my brother were 9 and 7 that year. And Christmas was always a big deal at that age. Thanks for the great memories Sammy.

The funniest story was the trucker and his wad, I'm still chuckling. That girl that wanted a bigger cut was smart. She reminds me of my Italian best friend Michelle. Michelle was tough, worked at a numbers joint, cussed like trucker, had a rap sheet from NY to CA, made me laugh like no other, and cooked the best Italian food. Nobody made sauce better than she did. For years I asked her for her recipe how but she wouldn't tell me. She'd do anything else for me but not that recipe. Shed take us to the dance clubs whenever she hit the numbers, which was often, bought me a new outfit, she was very generous. Her husband always let Michelle do whatever bcoz she ruled the roost. She never cheated on him as far as I know. That may be why I liked her so much, she cooked so good and made a lot of food, anybody could drop by for some as long as they brought their own bowls. In a million years I'd never thought a loud, foul mouth, illegal numbers worker, and very religious person, would become my best friend. We were complete opposites in personality. She'd drag me to church on Sundays too. Maybe that's why I enjoy Sammy's stories, that trucker story reminded me of Michelle 100%. And then one day her twin brother called that she was in the hospital and was asking to see me. She had a brain aneurism. I held her hand, we cried, reminisced about the fun we had over the years, and prayed too. But she died a few hours later. The doctors had botched up her surgery. They made her blind and she looked like a 80 year old woman, I didnt even recognize her at first. She finally gave me her recipe for her sauce (she added sugar), and her delicious potato salad (added lemon flavoring). Just one ingredient can change the whole taste. Till this day I've never found a better friend than she was. I miss you Michelle and still think about you. Please say hello to my brother Mike for me, and RIP. Yeah she smiling down from heaven at me...❤
@loganrusso393 жыл бұрын
That was a nice story; sad but made me smile when she gave you the recipe nonetheless. I, too, lost my best friend. He was Italian, like I am, and was 15 years older than me. We both moved down to FL from Boston, where I still reside today. He was the smatest guy I've ever met, but as smart as he was, he still ended up getting murdered. He disappeared for two years, but I immediately knew he was gone when he didn't call his mother or me anymore. Someone ended up telling the police what happened, and they were able to find him buried in a freezer behind a house the next town over. The murderer was on the run from the Marshalls for a while, but eventually he was caught in NY. Four years after my friend went missing, the trial began. He was found guilty and is serving 25 to life in a FL state prison. I miss my friend everyday. We had some good times together. He was like my big brother. I know I'll see him again someday though. Incidentally- I also add sugar to my gravy (that's what my family calls it). I use wine to bitter it up a bit and sugar to sweeten it while finding the perfect combination of the two.
@TheraP20143 жыл бұрын
@@loganrusso39 Thank you Logan, yours is a really tragic memory too. We know the pain and loneliness of losing those we love. I guess most of us do. I'm very glad they caught his killer too! Sometimes when bad things happen to good people like killings, robberies and whatnot or when I read the horror stories of little kids being abused, I wonder if that's Karma they had to pay back for past misdeeds. I'm a believer in karma, and reincarnation, and that keeps me in check more than anything else. Reminds me of that old saying "what goes around comes around" sooner or later. Best to make amends while you can, be on good terms with family, friends and neighbors, whenever possible. We never know when their time, or our time is up on this Planet of Sorrows. Good thing we're not neighbors Logan, I'd probably pester you for your "gravy" recipe should you not want to give it up. Take care, Happy Holidays and much Love always!!
