Well Tom stopped him 4 months ago and won the biggest post prestigious title in the sport. Mitch fans will talk about his torn callouses, but autism is a far far bigger opstical to compete with, train with and generally function with, that's why there is a 90% unemployment rate with people on the spectrum. A boo boo on your hands pales in comparison.
@cattycats44 күн бұрын
Tom is the greatest strongman out of modern athletes (since Shaw retired) never controversy, always humble and respectful. Mitch Hooper cant go one competition without some sort of exploited lift or bad reps that he got away with
@daviesugo76413 күн бұрын
@@cattycats4 Everyone knows objectively it's Mitch. You prefer Tom, that's fine, but objectively it's Mitch. Strongman is not just WSM.
@ghosthero08063 күн бұрын
coaches actually specifically look for autistic athletes. an autistic athlete with good strength genetics is historically THE formula to get world titles, as autistic athletes will tend to be laser focused on their training to an obsessive level. your 90% unemployment rate is also not true, the only studies on this indicate 70-80% unemployment rates, but this is for diagnosed autistic adults. upwards of 70% of autistic adults are undiagnosed, conservative estimates at least 50%. the data is thus woefully incomplete and any conclusions drawn from it are at best only working with half of the information. tldr; the only thing you're right about here is that tom did in fact win WSM 4 months ago. it's not even the biggest and most prestigious strongman comp anymore though, the fact that it isn't livestreamed has hugely damaged its popularity compared to more modernized strongman comps. it's only the biggest and most prestigious competition if you think that your grandfather who doesn't know how to operate a smart phone is the smartest person in your family.
@cisrael4683 күн бұрын
@@cattycats4”exploiting” lifts is part of the sport and every great strongman has done it in some form. Hooper and Novikov get far more out of their bodies than Tom does given how much smaller they are and they have both done better outside of WSM as a result. Objectively Mitch is the best in the world right now and it’s just not close

I love Hooper, he's an elite athlete and warrior, the only thing I personally do not appreciate much about him is that sometimes he speaks about matters he hasn't studied, such as meditation and its physiological benefits and pre pre pre (many hours pre ) pre trainings ice baths , which have many benefits in performance when done before, many hours before hard heavy training session and mma and martial arts workouts. Said so, i Love Mitchell ❤
@ExacT94 күн бұрын
I agree with you completely about him speaking about things he doesn't know about much, but one thing Hooper is on another planet compared to the competition is recovery, he's strong all around sure, but his recovery is absolutely unmatched, he did so many events this year and not even finished and he still has all the gas he needs to win them all, it's just ridiculous. So I'm not sure what you mean with the ice-baths exactly, but I know for a fact every athlete should try to mimic Hooper's recovery 1:1, might not work for everyone, but everyone should give it ago, as he really is on another planet and he doesn't have the same procedures as the other athletes.
@Ryu-f9c4 күн бұрын
@@ExacT9 i do agree bro, totally, perfectly stated, you're speaking facts 😌💛 about the icebaths i only meant that ice trainings and ice and cold temperatures conditioning is a MUST, not soon after workouts, because it may reduce a bit the hypertrophy of muscles but doing it hours before trainings and in other times of the days and even just after non hypertrophy trainings is an objectively good thing, while he explicitly says cold trainings do not give (almost ) any benefit....and this is wrong
