Muscle Up progression. Requirements. - At least 15 Pull Ups. - At least 20 seconds L-Sit Hold. -At least 25 Straight Bar Dips. -At least 7 L-Sit Pull Ups. 3 steps to Muscle Up. -Magic Button. Feet in front of your body. Using the movement of body to get "help", energy, momentum, to do it more easily. -L-Sit Pull Back. Next step after Magic Button. Using the momentum, while going up, u've to go in a L-Sit position. Exactly 90° angle. This will help your momentum. -Lay over the bar. When you're at the top of the bar with your body, lean hard forward on/toward the bar. Once you're here, you're 80% done. Just Straight Up Dips and congratulations! You've done your first Muscle Up.

Made my first clean muscle up without any assistance 2 weeks ago after 2 months of training. I worked out pretty hard but calisthenics took me to the next level. Before seeing Chris's video, I was already doing 25 pull ups in a row but muscle up was totally next level stuff. Couldn't be happier when I made it. Keep up your awesome work, Chris and all elite Thenx athletes.
@alexv55816 жыл бұрын
If you are saying the truth, that you can do 25 clean pull ups that is pretty impressive. When I mean clean pull ups, you should start from a dead hang and chin above bar and back to dead hang position and keep going. I can only do 16 clean pull ups and a few muscle ups.
@smontes71356 жыл бұрын
Thats kinda crazy if you can do 25 clean pull ups and havent muscled up, my max pull ups is 24 and ive hit 8 clean muscle ups in a row, its really just a matter of getting the form down so once you do that youll be getting them like nothing

I started calisthenics thanks to you back in June this year, couldnt do a single pull up or perform a leg raise. I started with australians, then resistance band, now I can comfortably hold an L-sit for up to 30 seconds, do 16 pull ups in a row with good form no kipping and 4 muscle ups in a row with both hands at the same time. I gotta say, keeping the technique on point was the saver for me, which is a main point of your videos. That constant emphasis on technique makes your brain-muscle connections so good. If anyone has questions Im happy to answer, Im 18 btw. :) Thank you my Chris boi.

Big facts my dude. When I first discovered your yt channel 6 months ago. My goal was to learn the muscle up for the first time. That magic button is like foundation. What really did it for me was the negative muscle up. Practicing the control of that motion make learning it so much easier. If you remember me saying it only took me two weeks to learn. Now I'm teaching other people how to do it and be more explosive with it. I appreciate all the help you are giving to the calisthneics communtiy.

Thanks so much man! You changed my life! Next goal for me now is a freestanding handstand, no walls!

This is simply the best transitional set of exercises to build up to the full muscle up. I'm over 60+ and I nailed a couple of the transitional exercises within 5 minutes. Easily getting over the bar. It will only be a matter of a few short weeks. Thanks for all the great videos!

It’s easy to improve. Just fuckin do it. That’s it. No special solution.

Mzrrr: I think it’s great to have people motivate you, but motivation doesn’t last forever, which is why discipline is so important.

Noah Nordman yeah man, the only person who can make you do it is you. You can bring a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Somebody else can take you to the gym, but only you can make yourself workout

Teen_Fitness: You’re right. It sucks because it’s not as easy as it sounds, but it’s true. The only person that can make it happen is yourself. Thanks for you’re input btw.

I'm sorry to say this but the quality of the content you were proposing has really decreased imo. I really miss your older video where i was learning something new every time. I feel like you're updating your old videos a little bit now. Maybee you should reduce the rhythm of your uploadings like 2 times a month in a way of bringing some new content here on KZbin. I hope you'll consider my comment for the future !

Great video! I watched another video of yours on muscle ups about six months ago, and after a month or two of practice got my first one. Which I was stoked about, especially as I'm 47, so no spring chicken. My best so far is three in a row, but I want to work up to ten over the next year, and these are some great tips that I hope will get me there. Great teaching Chris! You are as good at teaching as you are at the movements themselves.
