Good effort by DGP. Please train police force to treat public politely and do their duty honestly. At present public does not feel safe in villages to travel at night. Police should take rounds at night on village link roads so that people feel safe to travel at night.

THere is already hiest number of police power in India , but mostly lower level go for bribing

Lower order go for corruption bcoz they've to deposit it to upper level. Trust me brother, I've my sister's family in police. And they tell the real reason. There is work culture of bribe. If u don't take bribe letter then u'll be secluded from any meeting and social meets of department. The bribe which a hawaldar earns, he only keeps 20% of it in tier 1 cities and 30% in tier 2 and 3 cities. Rest is all moved above till DGP who gives certain percentage to minister to keep himself posted at same place. This is reality.

I would suggest that the First priority is to get rid of corruption, if any, from the police force and secondly to demand that police officers are fit and healthy. The biggest threat to law and order is never external but from within the system. Once these are put right the rest will follow. Suggest to have more independent teams within the force reporting to the PM to look at corruption within the force and civil service. Wishing you all the best in this the long and arduous task of fighting a deep rooted corrupt system , do be careful of all around you especially those keen to serve you blindly.
