Great video! Wish I would have seen it 2 days ago. I was fishing this scenario in a super clear(15ft vis) deep lake for spotted bass. I never put together why I was catching them off “the other side” of the boat in deeper water. As always, great job with your explanations.

Hi Jonny, great vid. I always have a Keitech or sparkshad tied on in spring. I actually use a lighter 1/8 ounce head, and really crawl it slow. This is also a great follow update if they hit my 6” magdraft, I can throw right in there and they will hit the smaller swim bait

My brother and I were doing exactly this a few days ago! We just kept chunking and winding a swim bait until we threw deep to shallow. We had to tick brush or a lay down to get bit.

If you fish along the shore, go find some hills. The water under hills are usually deeper then other spots.

Loved this video. Explains why my son and I wore them out 2 weekend ago. We were siting on the point cast out into the channel d slowly cranking up the side of the point. I did notice that the bites usually didn’t occur if I was throwing the bait where it was swimming up current only with or perpendicular. Thoughts

I believe uphill works best because uphill keeps the swimbait at a constant depth off bottom. Bottom and lure both go up as you retrieve the lure. When fishing downhill, lure gets further from bottom as you get closer to boat. Nothing to do with baitfish imho.

Glad you enjoy the videos. The reason I make live streams is because they only take me 2 hours to make versus 15-20 hours for my regular instructional videos. I only have enough time in a week to make 2 instructional videos in the format you enjoy, so I use the live streams to get more information out to my viewers in a faster way. I would love to make 5 instructional videos a week, but it’s not possible from a time perspective.
