Great video!!!!! My GF is an OFW in Taiwan now. She has been to Saudi and Dubai. She was very fortunate in her jobs, but has told me some stories that were horrible. The amount of SA in Saudi is very high, and most of the perps do not get punished. The only real problem she had was her last employer there did not want her to leave and tried to with hold her passport, but she threatened to call the police after calling her agency. She got her passport and was able to leave. In Taiwan, the agency holds her passport, and when she has been able to go on vacation, they get it to her without problems. She has been wise with her money, she had her house built and has supported her children the whole time as an OFW. Thank you for the video and bringing the plight of OFW's to light.

OFWs are true saints. They leave their families to help get a better life. Sometimes they get it, other times they walk into a bad situation. But that depends on what country they work in and for whom. Hopefully, the Philippines can grow to the potential they have in the country and OFWs will not be needed as much. These OFW videos are your most valuable to date. I spent 3 years working Kuwait, the men there have zero respect for women, even men are in danger of being sexually exploited there, it's good you warn young people of the risk and dangers of going there. I'm shocked when I speak to Filipinas aspiring to go to the Middle East to work, they seem to only consider the financial aspect. It broke my heart understanding how people were abused there ( got fired because I couldn't accept it ) Really it's great you make them aware of the risk involved. Families should feel ashamed if they send their children there. Worse than sending them to Angeles city.

Pea: (continued from Part 1) It's bad enough to have to leave everything you know behind to try improve your situation, and send most of what you earn after living expenses abroad, but to face all the unforeseen tactics some not so reputable companies portray to get people from other countries who are in hardship situations to come and have to put up and shut up with what they end up having toto to keep their "jobs". It is surprising that these companies that ship workers abroad don't have a post employment interview with their clients to find out the reality of the working situations to validate the business they are sending hopeful workers to. If the worker comes back with a positive review of the working conditions, it would make it easier to recommend employment with that company. If the review comes back negative, then don't recommend those businesses to their clients as much. It would be a way for the agencies sending workers abroad to have a better insurance of their people's safety, (just my opinion) Interesting interview, and lots to think about for this topic. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront of thought Pea. Keep up the great work my friend!

Very glad that Jane, eventually had a good outcome and has a business back home. On the topic of OFWs, 567,000+ are Merchant Mariners and they are one third of the world's merchant mariner population, and very well reguarded. Thinking about the first video of this series and exploitation, I thought about the US women critcizing 'passort bros' saying they are just exploiting filipinas. I know it is a comparative rationalization, but given Jane's experiance and the life many have it the Philippines, expats may help more than they hurt, certianly no worse than some others. There are so many in the US that have no clue what the rest of the world, or even the US for that matter, is like.
