The funny thing is it's already there. They could make a gigantic series out of this maybe even several different shows with 10 seasons. Just tweak some dialogue a little, slightly change some events to fit the format and boom you have the most epic tale Star Wars has ever seen. But you just know they would f it up royaly. I gotta be honest, as a big fan of The Old Republic, I think the game's writers already did Disney's job for them. Things can always get worse, but I think what they did to Vitiate in the Eternal Empire expansions essentially cratered his quality as a character. He went from "galaxy-threatening cosmic horror" to "charismatic ghost emperor/absentee father".

Later they found out that they worked for Revan but they needed to gather proof to convince both Empire and Republic, because Revan tried to lure both Empire and Republic to the Pirate planet so they would destroy each other. Darth Marr and Satele Shan were leading the ships to the planet. After they found out that it was all planned by Revan they stopped before it was too late. Then they found out that Revan was about to "resurrect" the Sith Emperor who was slumbering on Yavin gathering energy. Darth Marr and Satele then lead strike forces to stop Revan but the Emperor came back revitalized and left after threatening the galaxy. Thats when Darth Marr and Lana Beniko started looking for traces of Vitiate which they found after some time on Ziost. We all know what happened on Ziost, after that Darth Marr led an Army into the unknown regions to look for Vitiate. Not soon after he was killed by Valkorion (Vitiate) like he was a mere Acolyte. (Who wasnt in front of Vitiate though..)

@DarthWrath66 Well, in a way. Marr was the de facto leader of the Empire after Yavin IV, and one could say he was in charge of all operations at the very top of the chain of command. Lana and Theron (and our characters) were the ones on Ziost themselves dealing with the immediate threat, though. Iirc, it wasn't until after beating Vitiate's hosts that Marr got to check in on the Ziost situation personally.

That was when Biofail lost the plot, too. Before Swtor, the Republic was said to be getting more bloodthirsty and proud, keeping losing ground, whilst Sith would fracture and have their own little empires across space, as seen in Errant Knight, a story slightly predating Bane's tenure. And the lore leading up to the launch of the game, and launch stories, were fine additions to that. Vitiate died, leaving a massive power vacuum which many Sith would take advantage of to their own gains, including the Dark Council and the Dread Masters. Hinting the first seeds of fragmentation. Whilst the Republic got Saresh as chancellor, a woman vowed to destroy the Sith, whilst pro-war sentiments were commonplace amongst the Jedi too, including the Council. Swtor flipped all that on its head, much like Feloni did to TCW. So I dont consider events after Vitiate consumed Ziost canon to EU. Jedi and Sith working together is ludicrous. They *barely* worked together with the Imperial Remnant against the Vong, and that was after decades of slimy buerocracy (Mostly that one bothan prick) kept ruining the New Republic, too.

Literally based on the very book "Revan" in which the Sith already plotted to get rid of Vitiate. They called him the mad Emperor even 300 years before the events of SWTOR. Now imagine the Sith hear about the story of how Vitiate destroyed 8000 Sith Lords and planned to do that on a galaxy-wide scale, including the entire Empire and tell me again that they wouldnt do anything they can to prevent it. Yes even teaming up with the Republic.

I think vitiate should stay as a video game trilogy villain. Now Zayne Carrick would be a good character for an Old Republic movie trilogy. The stories of the Old Republic are far beyond anything Star Wars is able to create. And I'm afraid if they touch it, they'll spoil it. And Vitiate was far beyond the power of any other dark side user because, unlike Vader or Palpatine, he wasn't really meant as a character but as the embodiment of the danger the dark side ultimately poses.

@@F3AN0RXINFERN0 Luke and Sidious were said to be n1 users of all history of Light and Dark, beacuse its Lucas Star Wars, and we cant have any other characters be the best other than Lucas' creations. By all accounts, Vitiate, Naga Sadow and many of the first Dark Jedi should be more powerful than most 'modern' Sith. As for the future, Luke's descendant, Cade Skywalker seemed more powerful than Luke too, with barely any training at that, but his story was cut short by the mouse buyout. But then we also had the 'theory' that dark side and light side culminate in a few people, and dilutes in many, so if there are only a handful of Force users, theyre going to be bonkers strong. Hence we got Sidious and Luke. But this also makes both past and future totally irrelevant, which as a 'recognizable franchise', makes sense. But in-universe, it just means a brief 100 year period is what *really* mattered in history, nothing else. Which is pretty poor worldbuilding, imo.

It was hearing him speak of this first time I played the game that I knew this guy was no average Sith or "person" for that matter. Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorian schemed and moved about like a demon possessing incalculable malice and greed whilst using the coat of flesh to walk amongst and fool the living. His goals were beyond what any mortal character in SW has ever tried to achieve. The lengths he'd go (and actually went through) would drive 99.99% of beings to irrecoverable insanity.

"I will share all this with you... if you will only kneel." Vitiate went through many phases and mindsets in his life. Even though he might've lied to even himself. First he wanted more power. Then he wanted to rule - to a point. And then he wanted immortality beyond time and space. Then when the Hero of Tython broke him temporarily on Dromund Kaas? He slept for a few years and then he decided after eating Ziost that he had what he needed to retain immortality and decided he wanted to rule the galaxy and NOT consume it anymore. Then he changed his mind a 'little bit' again, and wanted to rule through someone else. Only to be fully killed off - in one form. His original body was then also destroyed along with his Valkorion spirit, and with his full spirit destroyed with his body, he was dead - almost. One last ritual, to try and claw his way back. But this was Vitiate before he consumed all of Nathema. His ultimate goal was again to consume the entire galaxy - but thankfully he was stopped once and for all. He did almost all the Sith ever did in their entire history, including after his final death. Another note - Vitiate, or Tenebrae, was one of the most powerful Sith at the time - before he consumed Nathema. Then he stole the essence and power of thousands of Sith and all life gave him effective immortality. But before that first ritual? He was weaker than Palpatine was. Palpatine was the most naturally powerful Sith in all of history. But Vitiate was the most powerful Sith to ever live - after he consumed entire planets. And his fall was still inevitable, because he had the same problem as every other villain. The Light Side. Also known as "The Plot Armor Side."

The video you saw is from shadows of oblivion. This was happening on the astral planes. The original valkorion was sent off to oblivion in kotfe. The tenebrae/vitiate/valkorion there was from a ritual set up long before on his original body in stasis. It took a "timestamp" of him at the time he put himself in stasis and then used the memories of himself from others in order to "reconstruct" himself and his power from their memories. When you meet valkorion he doesn't even remember who you are. The 3 people you see were tenebrae the actual sith lord from the timestamp ritual and the other 2 are memories of his future self (who tenebrae was very disappointed in) which are sort of "combining" into his full power form. Does that make sense? And before you ask, yes, when he defeated the outlander, revan, meetra, satele, marr and all those other people and it literally took the force to intervene to stop him, he wasn't even at full power.

The children of the emperor were sort of like sleeper agents that the emperor can possess and control from a distance at anytime from anywhere because there was like a small piece of him in them or something. This wasn't the same as valkorion who didn't age, had immense power and had continued his thing even after his vitiate side went to sleep. Charles Boyd confirmed that after the sel makor and jedi knight thing, he didn't want to risk revealing valkorion until he could reunite with him.

You left out one major thing. He wasn't the Emperor of the Sith anymore, he created his faction. Both the Empire and the Republic were fighting against him, including the jedi and sith. Regardless of the faction you play in SWTOR, this part of the story has you teaming up with the other side.

God, as a fan of The Old Republic, that Eternal Empire storyline was so stupid. With the way Shadow of Revan ended, they had the perfect opportunity to do a good story with Vitiate as a cosmic level threat, but instead they decided to retcon his character to hell and back and pull a whole third faction (based on some random-ass tabletop campaign one of the devs did "many years ago", no less) out of their ass to just grind the status quo to dust and write the whole era's story into an inescapable corner.

It is QUITE LITERALLY bad fanfiction. And no, it was not foreshadowed in Ziost. That was foreshadowing for a different planned expansion that was cancelled in favor of Jesse Sky's bad fanfiction.

It was difficult to play Old Republic online on my old laptop 💻 but thankfully it still worked. Even though I would prefer to play a solid offline KOTOR 3, I will admit, seeing all the old KOTOR characters fight vitiate was very satisfying. It felt like Revan, the Exile and other characters can finally be at peace knowing this evil is gone forever.

As a fan of both 40K lore and Star Wars, I've always felt lore from The Old Republic was too much of Star Wars trying to be Warhammer. Excessive lore really undermines the original trilogy, and you can practically hear the creaking of the unnecessary fluff.

From my perspective, with each successive epic event and character spawned during the Pre-Republic and Old Republic, the Original Trilogy events seem to get more and more insignificant, to the point of trivial.
