@@oldtimer7635 Very nice! Something new for me. Just checked it out (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ3MeYxpqrushLssi=b9QTl3V_Yjz0DBd6). To be clear, though, by "most famous" I mean "most airplay", "most recordings sold", etc. (Not at all a commentary on "quality".). I don't know for sure, of course, but I strongly suspect the Black Crowes version has been heard by more folks. I attended a New Years Eve concert as we moved from 2019 to 2020. Right after the the midnight champaign bottle's cork popped, the lead singer announced they had one more song to perform and brought the new year (2020) in with "Hard to Handle". They did a great job. Maybe too good. Y'all will remember what a terrible year 2020 was - pandemic, social protests (police killing of George Floyd), natural disasters, killer bees, and on and on. As the band was announcing their next NYE concert, I jokingly requested to the singer that they NOT start another year with "Hard to Handle". :). (I think 2020 was the hardest year to handle, at least in my lifetime so far.)

"Thorn in my Pride" and "Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye" are great songs from them, and "She Talk to Angels" is probably their best.

Lenny Kravitz style was highly produced by industry professionals. The Crowes had raw musical talent, put on great live shows.

Amber, you would really appreciate the version of this by 13 year old Courtney Hadwin on America's Got Talent(2018). She definitely has an inner Janis and felt that music flowing through her.

Great choice! Love the Black Crowes! Idea: You have not done U2 yet (You have earned iconic band status when your lead singer is known by one name only and the world knows immediately who it is [Bono])- start with New Years Day and let it shake you to your core & take you on a journey. Another along those lines is Pride [in the name of love]. Other great choices are Where the streets have no name, sweetest thing, beautiful day, One, with or without you, Sunday bloody Sunday, angel of Harlem, Desire & the list goes on as the rabbit hole is super deep!

I can never decide which album is my favorite: Achtung Baby, Joshua Tree, or All That You Can’t Leave Behind.

@@pmgandco6322 I know, they are all so good. U2 is a big rabbit hole I hope they jump down. They are world superstars and they haven't done anything along the lines of U2 yet.

Just before their first album (Shake Your Moneymaker), which contained Hard to Handle, came out, I was watching David Letterman’s show and nodded off. As it turned out, Black Crowes was the musical guest. They played Jealous Again and it woke me out of a dead sleep. At the time, I owned a compact disc store. Next mornkng I added another 50 pieces to our pre-order for the album. I don’t know how many we sold over the years but it was a bunch. Terrific band. I enjoyed seeing how it struck you on your first listen just as I was hooked the first time I heard the album. Thank you.
