That transformation is literally *PERFECTION*, Catra really freaking felt that

I think it’s so important how catra does not immediately change and she has to actively choose to keep working on herself to be better. It’s incredibly realistic! It’s also a huge difference between Catra and Shadow Weaver. Catra genuinely apologizes and is now trying to change whereas SW continues to put the blame on others and stays the same even if she has been working with the good guys. For SW it wasn’t a change of heart, it was just beneficial to her.

It's a non-linear process, it's human, and that's really one of the greatest strengths of this show, that internal drama. Oh yeah, totally agree, and I can't wait to post the last reactions to dive more into that drama including SW!

As soon as Spinny showed up at the party claiming something weird had happened I was like “well frick.” When the show’s creator gets chipped you know your screwed. It’s so good that Catra, like Glimmer said, wasn’t suddenly a whole new and brighter character after last episode. Not only are we dealing with all the new trauma inflicted by Prime, but there’s still so much baggage between our crew. And of course Catra tries to go back into old habits, tries to push people away. It’s what she’s best at, it’s a defense mechanism. However, I love that Adora is still done. Of course she loves Catra and cares what happens to her but she’s not gonna do that song and dance with her again. If Catra wants to push her away and be volatile, then she’ll give Catra what she says she wants. She’ll drop her off somewhere on Etheria and they’ll never see each other again. It’s literally when Catra realizes this, realizes that she could genuinely lose Adora forever here, the thought of truly being alone again hits her hard and she finally allows herself to admit what she’s always wanted. She just wants Adora to stay. She wants that connection again. And that’s it, right there. The key to a good redemption is once you’ve acknowledged your mistakes you continue to try and improve. That’s what makes a redemption stick. Not to say there won’t be slide backs or slip ups. Progress isn’t always upward. Some days are hard. But it’s that continued strive to not let it beat you down that counts, to not let it drag you back to where you started.

Haha that's a great observation, it's such a rewarding experience knowing Spinerella's VA while editing the reactions. It's really the smart choice in terms of writing, and I love how it challenges the audience in terms of her dynamic with Adora because her healing it's a non-linear process and it has to be, so it's really satisfying to see how seriously they're approaching her character storyline, and love love love how much it also affects Adora and motivates her and brings her down, it's so human. And that's where She-Ra shines the most precisely: the human drama. It doesn't feel like a "cartoon", they feel like real people all the way through and I'm so freaking happy this season is sticking the landing!

S5 She-Ra is such a great design, and I love the transformation, especially how the particles from the heart BECOME the Catra-mask tiara, and that smirk that I SWEAR is meant for Catra, like "yeah, I stole your iconic look, do you like it?"

fuck I had forgotten how creepy the hive mind is, especially when controlling people I love how Entrapta had no issue helping and forgiving Catra, despite all she did to her, she might not be the best when it comes to people but she have a great heart and can think clearly

I love love how it's slowly built up and it was established with Catra and having a terrifying dynamic with Adora in Save the Cat. Love the storytelling here, really builds the suspense for future characters. Entrapta is one the purest souls of the show, such a heartwarming moment and character!

You know the hardest part about Season 5 reaction videos? Not writing entire essays for each one in the comments! Two quick things that (IMO) don't get mentioned enough: 1) You called this out but Catra does not get anywhere near enough credit for how much of a badass she is. Unlike the princesses she's got no powers yet we see her take on She-Ra multiple times (albeit with Adora usually holding back), take out Shadow Weaver, take out Hordak, stop Glimmer dead in her tracks (at least pre-queen Glimmer), survive ancient First Ones ice worms, conquer the Crimson Wastes in, like, half a day and get the Horde within a whisker (heh) of winning. And now we can add slipping by Horde Prime's firewall into the mix! Oh, and forcing him out of her mind for a fair chunk of time when he was close by and presumably paying attention to what she was doing in the previous episode. 2) It's a little detail but while Space She-Ra is clearly not interested in the laws of physics the show *does* seem to play fair. She can't fly, all of her movement is basically jumping which looks a little odd as she arcs rather than moves in straight lines. But as she's, y'know, breathing and her clothes are moving in a breeze it seems reasonable to assume she's using magic to create a little pocket of reality around herself so that'd include gravity. Magic is played as converting energy into whatever you need so rainbow laser beams and floating platforms fits in nicely.

Yeah, it's explicitly shown in episode 3 that there's no gravity field outside of the ship. She-Ra is generating her own gravity field as well as creating platforms in order to move as she wishes. "Taking Control" indeed!

Catra is easily the best fighter in the show. But the thing about her fights is that its not about 'power level' for her. Rather, Catra's fighting style is all about being smart. Catra actually runs away a LOT in fights, because she realizes she cannot actually go face to face with most of her opponents. She has to be clever, and as a result she learns (after a few bad fights in the first two seasons) to never actually willingly fight unless she holds the advantage. Her fights against She-Ra mostly revolve around her messing with Adora's head, distracting her, and keeping her off guard. Her fights against Shadow Weaver and Hordak both revolve around her taunting them to distract them while she tries to lure them into a position from which she can jump them before they can take her down. The two times post-season 2 where she is not in control of a fight (against Tung Lashor and Glimmer), she actually comes close to losing. With Tung Lashor, Catra is being extremely reckless because she's stopped caring about her own safety, and the only reason she got out of that fight with barely a scratch is because Tung Lashor decided to gloat when he grabbed her by the leg (when he could've immediately smashed her into the ground), and then he clumsily gets himself stuck in quicksand. And in the fight against Glimmer, she almost gets cut in half by Glimmer's magic beam-attack (seriously, if Catra had been a split second slower, she would literally be dead), and Catra soon realizes she is outmatched and makes a run for it.

The hardest part about season 5 is that the episodes are so so unbelieavably good and emotionally powerful that it makes the editing all the more challenging to make the show justice haha. Catra is such a badass in terms of her fighting but also strategic mindset, she's incredible smart, and all those events you mention, it's actually incredible when you consider the turmoil and emotional baggage she's always went through. Catra really is the best written character of the show and one of the best I've ever seen. I agree with you! It feels all so organic and you explained it amazingly. Thank you! :D

I love how they managed to make Catra‘s redemption arc so, Catra. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but I really like it. I mean it wasn’t like „good talking, emotional support…BOOM nice person“ I mean we’ve got to see the small, yet meaningful moments in the show, where Catra seems alone and sad. There were rare, but still, I like that. And still, in season five, it’s a slow process, I really like that. I’ve forgotten if you finished the show already, so if you didn’t, do not read! And it’s nice to see how moments like a kiss or or words like „I love you, I never hated you“ make her feel different. I know some people find that cheesy, but I like this, because I know that just saying one thing, or giving a person just one advice, can really change them. Actually I don’t know that at all, but maybe it is this way, atleast I think so. Hehe. Also hello dear Dark-Cry, gotta follow my journey on commenting Dark-Cry in every Video. :3

It's such a good episode, I loved personally how it is clearly taking time for Catra to adjust, and how Adora decides she's done letting Catra push her away. And in the end I think it's that ultimatum, that moment of being faced with the possibility of Adora actively deciding to give her up, that as you said very instinctively, fueled by her love, makes Catra finally let go of her pride. So great. Also, Micah being completely out of his depth but in the end coming through as the leader he truly is, also great. Loved all your Star Wars references (and the shirt!), glad you're getting so much space fun in She-Ra :D As per usual, phenomenal work with editing and commentary, and I truly can't wait for the next episode 🤘

I agree, I freaking love how among the spectacle, the episode still feels super intimate and human and it's the character interactions that really make the story shine. "Experiment 1982" references the fact that the original _He-Man & the Masters of the Universe_ (the big brother series to the OG She-Ra, since Prince Adam/He-Man is the big brother of Princess Adora/She-Ra canonically) started in 1982 & "Experiment 1985" references the fact that the original _She-Ra: The Princess of Power_ started in 1985.

- The new She-Ra's transformation is goddess level ❤❤❤ the music, the secuence, the meaning. It is majestic!!! - After the finale, we can fully understand why is include Wrong Hordak in the series.
