I'm not sure if you noticed but Catra actually dies. Her breathing after her fall was her last breath. That makes Adora healing her SO much more impressive and beautiful!

A detail I love is that now that the First Ones' Sword is gone, Adora doesn't need to say "For the Honor of Grayskull" to transform/use her magic! She still says it going forward since it's how she learned to control it, but she accesses her magic without it several times going forward! Interestingly, back on Beast Island, when the signal disables the sword, when she breaks out of its control, it is the first time her magic comes from her eyes!

@@royalrosepetal It's also the medieval castle on Eternia (the big brother planet to Etheria where Adora's REALLY from, as the twin sister of Prince Adam, because she & her older brother are the children of Eternia's ruling monarchy [King Randor & his wife Queen Marlena], yet even they were in the dark about their kid's double identities, although recent reboots of _He-Man_ have suggested that Queen Marlena knew all along, but had kept the closely-guarded secret from even her husband) with a skull-faced entrance that's full of ancient secrets & seemingly untold power. Just as his kid sister Adora shouts "For the honor of Grayskull!" to summon She-Ra, Prince Adam shouts "By the power of Grayskull. Yep, the studio wanted them to show she was still alive after the fall, so AJ recorded what Nate described as "the most devastating death rattle you've ever heard". That last breath we heard was intended to be the sound of her dying.

Corridors and Save the Cat are two of my favorite episodes. I also love the title "Save the Cat," which I'm almost certain is a reference to the screenwriting book by Blake Snyder. The save the cat moment in the story is when the protagonist does something good that makes the audience like them and get us on their side. So this episode is literally about "saving the cat," but I think it's also a nod toward Catra having her own "save the cat" moment in Corridors, when she decides to save Glimmer and sets herself on the path to redemption.

I also think, this episode and corridors are the best ones of the all show. The emotions, the angst, the axiety ufff it's but the apology of Catra to Adora and then the high between these two dorks at the End of save the Cat, it's marvelous 🙉🤧🥺 I just love Catra's "twitch" behavior is so ominous! And when prime get into her head, it's like: leave my baby alone! The scene between episode 11 of season one and this one, so powerful!

THE CAT IS SAAAAAAFFFEE, LETSGOOOOO!! For me it's the voice acting. I watch a lot of anime and do so with subs because I feel English voice acting regularly falls kinda short in animation. While the greatest animated series from the past several years (Infinity Train, Arcane, She-Ra, The Owl House, etc. etc.) succeed and become so beloved because they do many things well and not just one or two things, for me the biggest factor is often voice acting. Doesn't matter how expressive your characters are animated or how powerful your dialogue is on paper, if the delivery falls flat then that other stuff can't have the desired impact. You noted the voice acting a bit during Stranded but less so during Save the Cat (there was a lot to talk about tbf), though I imagine you still take my meaning here. Early on in the show you can hear nuance like Glimmer sounding fatigued when low on magic and Bow sounding distressed at any unexpected situation, and those performances then translate to how in later episodes like these two you can _hear_ the *hurt* in character voices which really makes you feel what they feel during emotional scenes 🥲

LETS GOOOO! So many factors go into the making of excellent storytelling, and voice acting is such a fundamental pillar and you're right, these two episodes TREMENDOUSLY deliver on that. Oh yeah, I think the acting was top-notch in Save the Cat, some of the best in the show and in the animated medium, period. They all give so much dimension, so much personality, so much soul to these characters that it's hard not to feel something. She-Ra really is one of the best shows ever made!

Episode 4: Swifty’s impressions of everyone are pretty spot on. While there is some great comedy this episode, I really appreciate Glimmer sincerely apologizing to Bow at the end. Episode 5: This is my favorite episode of the series. Dude it was from this episode onward that I was an emotional wreck the first time I watched Season 5. It was like 3 in the morning of the premiere and I was binging the hell out of this season because I literally was vibrating I was so excited and thus could not sleep. And this episode destroyed me. I had been waiting so long for this moment, and the way the entire throne room sequence was done? Masterful. I know we praise AJ a lot on this show but Aimee also killed it this episode. They both were phenomenal. People gave the crew such a hard time for She-Ra’s first design, so I can only imagine how hard it was for them to keep quiet about the new and definitely improved design. She-Ra looks so good now, holy crap. Like, I hate that she was controlled but the way Catra’s hair looked…. Slicked back with the couple of loose strands… Loved it.

It's suprising to see him as a very positive highlight of a She-Ra episode, his presence added a lot of great comedy and depth to the show! Yep, Glimmer and Bow moments were so satisfying at the end, the parallels are great and the dynamic feels so grounded. Oh damn, that must've been SUCH a ride, I would've definitely binged this if I wasn't reacting. Gosh yes, that whole sequence is a masterclass of filmmaking and storytelling, I truly wish to see this episode one day at a theater. That should be SUCH an experience. Yesss, they acted their a** off here, like wow, they're so talented. Wow, that was firstly criticized? That's surprising haha oh yeah, as much as I like th original costume, this new one is SUPREME. The original script of Save the Meow Meow was posted in scribd legally. I recommend to read it 😊 3. As many others, I want to remark that Catra died in Save the War Criminal, but producers did their best to avoid it being noticed. One clue, is when you activate english descriptive audio, before Adora heals Catra, the audio says "...around Catra's lifeless body..."

I died when your cat fell and you edited the scene of catra falling in. I think corridors is my favorite episode of the series, but I do cry a lot more for save the cat. But I also watched She-Ra mostly because Catra caught my eye on the cover, and she surpassed all my expectations. Maybe it's just because corridors was the episode where I said to myself "this kids show has no business of being as good as it is". I have no doubt you have listened to it already, but if you feel like it, I would watch a reaction/commentary/analysis video of the Warriors cover by AJ Michalka.

"If you're smart, you'll run away." "WELL, I'M NOT! ... Running away, that is." is one of my favourite bits of writing in the whole show and one of my very favourite kinds of humour (and of course, Aimee's delivery of everything is brilliant). Overall, episode 4 is great, and I think it was when I finally warmed up to Swift Wind! / Episode 5: first of all, Korra falling off your desk has to be one of the funniest coincidences ever, GG to Korra for having such great comedic timing! This episode is brilliant in so many ways, terrifying and great (it's a 9/10 for me, only because I cannot stand the sound of bones cracking or even knuckles, so I spend half of the great, great fight scene just cringing lmao but that's on my brain)! As always it's so amazing how much detail you pick up on on first watch, and I loved your analysis as well as your comparisons to Star Wars. I'd definitely say that personally, I think the strength of the original Star Wars trilogy was in the simple but very effective character writing, and in the fact that at the end of the day, what saves the galaxy is indeed love, isn't it? And after that (again, to my personal taste), I've felt like the character writing has gone completely downhill and been increasingly inconsistent as the franchise grew, at least as far as the movies are concerned. She-Ra takes the same concepts, and sticks to them through the whole show. Also, you pointing out how Horde Prime is a false god is so true and such an apt comparison, considering how much his reign is alike to what we can see when any religion goes to the extreme, and how much pain it can cause in the name of "peace and unity". Related to that, I think you're the only person I've seen (at least in the limited amount of video "reactors" I've watched) who felt genuine empathy and distress for Wrong Hordak immediately, despite how humorous the situation was shown to be. Did I expect anything else from you at this point? Of course not :D Okay this turned way too long as usual, but of course gotta mention Catradora, if only to say I can't wait for your commentary on the next episode and how their dynamics grow. The concept of Prime itself as the ultimate villain surprises me so much, it takes the series to new corners in terms of themes and emotions, I'm truly blown away. Glad you immediately picked up on what what happend with Wrong Hordak informs us about Hordak. When Hordak got cut off from the hive mind when he first arrived on Etheria, he was just as lost and confused and terrified. So he fell back on what he knew and tried to be like Prime. HE didn't have what Wrong Hordak had: good people to help and care for him.

No vimos el momento en el video, pero uno de mis favoritos es cuando Adora salta tras de Catra. Al abrir los ojos trata de levantarse y no lo logra. Entonces se arrastra hasta donde está Catra. Adora está rota por dentro y por fuera y lo único en que puede pensar es en si Catra aún está con vida... Fue el momento más triste y desesperado solo para dar paso a la revelación de la nueva She Ra. (por cierto, entre los detalles del nuevo diseño tambien hay que decir que su nuevo peinado es mucho mas parecido al de Adora que en su previa encarnación)

Ooooh gosh Save the Cat is my all-time favorite She-ra episode, I'm so stoked we finally got to see your take on it! Especially loved what you said about how it pairs with corridors as the culmination of Catradora's mutual feelings from both their perspectives. I never thought of it that way but now that you've said it I can't unsee it and it makes me love corridors more in retrospect. Also loved your analysis of the new She-ra design and how they're connected to the people she loves. I never caught the wings on her boots so I'm glad you pointed them out. That point you made about the transition from her powers being artificially channeled vs naturally developed was also really cool. Totally resonates with how before she always seemed to struggle with figuring out her abilities but with the new design she just instinctively does cool new shit without a second thought. I think that really resonated with me because I always kind of thought it felt like the old design and powers were more Mara's. Like before She-ra was someone Adora was desperately trying to live up to, but with the new design She-ra was just a fully focused version of Adora.

Yesss Save the Cat is a magical mastepiece! It's really hard for to definitely pick one or the other as a personal favorite, but yeah, both Corridors and Save the Cat are so emotionally charged with their personal climaxes that it gives me so many chillst just thinking about it Thank you so much for appreciating the analysis! Yesss, it's so ingenious the storytelling of all this, the conflict of nature vs the artificial is everywhere in this show now thinking in retrospect, it's beautifully written. Oh yeah, now it feels like truly Adora's suit and not someone else's, and that just hits me now cuz I never wondered about a possible upgrade into something so much more genuine, and I'm glad this show is delivering in that regard, how the costume design plays into crucial character development, it's so amazing. It's a small thing often (understandably) overlooked in Save the Cat given Adora is being such a badass but Catra continues her streak of pretty much wrecking every big bad she goes up against. After all she's been in Prime's, uh, personal care for a while at this point, has a chip in her neck and he's clearly actively using that connection. Yet even before the chip is damaged we see her fighting back and she kicks him out of her mind for a surprisingly long time near the end. Must have been the shock of seeing Adora with her hair down ;-) I'll also never understand how this show didn't take home all of the voice acting awards. AJ and Aimee are consistently fantastic but pretty much everyone has enough moments to put together a decent show-reel!

Yesss, agree with you! Even though she's clearly in conflict with herself, I think she gained some willpower seeing Adora fight for her, even though Catra keeps trying to distance herself. Hahaha Adora with her hair loose must be such a sight to behold, would totally understand Catra right there This show DESERVES so many recognition and love, like, I can't believe this show is not as popular as it should be, it should be everywhere. 3:39 Episode 5-4 has the only Swiftwind scenes i like on the entire show, all of his scenes on the episode are very well done as well as the entire episode, of course. 6:17 not a Star wars fan, but for the little i've seen Adora is so much better is not even a fair comparison to be made. 31:27 that fact that they make you believe for a moment that it is him just to reveal it is the wrong one a few seconds later is cruel and hilarious. 34:07 an inmediate give away that she is not really the one speaking. 37:14 they really should, specially knowing those claws are strong enough to go trough metal. 39:19 i swear, villans have to stop making computer that will blow up everything suronding them the moment their are damage in the slightest XD 40:43 agree. 40:20 i feel like this new version of she-ra looks much more mature that the previous one. 45:21 🤣🤣🤣 47:01 NOOOOOOOO!!! 😭😭😭 59:12 this is one of my favorite episodes, and my favorite moment is "promise?" Me encantó tu reacción!!! Justo como la esperaba. Este inicio de temporada ha sido increible y llena de momentos cumbre. Para mi es también una de las mejores series animadas que he podido ver en mi vida (y yo veía a la She ra de los 80, que me encantaba, pero hoy día podria pasar por la mamá de Angela) Los momentos de Stranded con la reconciliación de Bow y Glimmer y los indicios de Adora siendo She Ra y no la espada y los Star Siblings son geniales. Pero Save the Cat es, indudablemente el pináculo de lo que esta serie puede lograr a nivel de narrativa y desarrollo de personajes, pero también de animación y dirección. Las expresiones tan "cálidas" en Glimmer y Bow. Las diferentes expresiones de Adora, que pasó por todo un espectro de ellas. Ver a Catra despues de ser "purificada" por Horde Prime e imaginar todos los niveles en que el proceso la ha violentado para presentarla asi. El simple detalle del cabello corto. Pasar del perturbador "Hello, Adora" al "Hey, Adora" más emocional de toda la serie. La conversación entre ellas "you're such an idiot - Yeah, i know..." Ese tristisímo "...promise?". Ahhhh. Esta serie lo tiene todo. Y aún faltan muchas emociones por venir
