Dead bodies, while not dangerous on their own, tend to contain a lot of bacteria and parasites that are consuming it. She very easily could have been talking about a less immediate health risk in messing around with decomposing matter. Another thing she might have been worried about is leftover stingers.

Dead jellyfish are still as dangerous as living ones because the way they administer venom is basically like being stuck with spring loaded barbs that are coated with toxins.
