It would be so easy for someone to stick something in one of the horses... They shouldn't be allowed to get closer than one metre, and certainly not allowed to touch the horses. I hope Ormonde is OK.

That on the mounts neck. Can be a little nip from another mount . It happens. I'm sure the Vet has already looked at it. Having it been seen upon tacking it up before allowed on duty. If it was a serious problem, they never had let it out for duty. These mounts are very well cared for. The are not just any horses. The Queen herself picked these mounts out and paid for them . Their very very pricey in fact . So no , these guards are not going to let anything happen to them. To the guards. Thank you for your dedication , sacrifice and service . Well that’s a neat trick! To start with there is clearly hay and dung on the sole of the Troopers offside boot. Later on it seems to have vanished but instead there’s some on the near side! My dad would be revolving in his urn if he saw that! 😂 As for the minuscule wound on the neck it could’ve been caused in a variety of ways, for a start the sentry boxes are battered and in need of a tidy, there could be splinters in the wood, he’s a big horse if he’s turned around in there he might’ve caught it but I feel that it’s unlikely. It’s not bothering him and shouldn’t be a problem

Yes the Horse has a little scratch on its upper Neck. It’s not bad. It most likely doesn’t even bother him a bit. I raised, trained and showed Arabians for over 40 years so believe me this lit nick isn’t anything to worry about. It certainly isn’t bothering the Animal. It’s people who are bothering the Animal. I laughed out loud at the people speculating that he was injured by a tourist with a finger nail or umbrella. Like they think Ormonde wouldn’t have immediately reacted strongly to being jabbed with something, and the tourist wouldn’t have been hauled away by the armed officers for injuring him. He was most likely nipped by another horse or possibly scraped his neck on something like a piece of a fence or a nail. As well trained as they are, they’re still horses, and they sometimes hurt themselves and get into fights.

@TaraVixen
@TaraVixen 7 ай бұрын
It’s not the bridle or the reins it’s looks like a bite from another horse or something. The white cream is to heal wounds and keep flies off, he will be fine. Horses dont really take much notice of things like that, they might not want it to be touched but they are not like us when they have a small wound they just get on with things. I’ve often found one of our horses has a wound from a kick or bite from another horse but they dont make a fuss. If anything they dont want you messing with it but we always put some white cream on it or just spray it with an antiseptic spray to keep flies off . They heal very very quickly too! I’ve been amazed to see friends horses with really nasty injuries that heal up so well. A friends horse just broke its leg & almost de-gloved the lower part of its leg running through a fence. It had a splint & bandage on it & had to be stabled cos it still wanted to run around on it.

Looks like a nip from another horse or he has knocked himself on something. The white is a cream is an antiseptic cream & stops flies getting on the wound. It’s like the equivalent of a plaster/band aid is to us. Horses often nip each other. They get lots of little nicks but they don’t worry about them like we do, it doesn’t effect them & they heal very fast! There is NO way this was missed, these horses are groomed/brushed several times each day so they would have known about it & treated it. There are also antiseptic sprays to spray onto small wounds on horses. He will be fine, they would be onto it.

Yes they do they are professional soldier, they know how important it is to care for equipment - don't want your saddle girth to break. You don't take a sick horses out in duty. The Guard's stable men/woman go carefully over the horses before they go out.

Thank you for watching!! I didn’t know what has happened to Ormonde. The tourists spotted it and informed the Lady Guard. He continued his duties, and when he came back out again, I think the guard/soldier applied white cream (maybe antiseptic cream) to the wound, hence you see the white mark on his neck at 10:26. Thanks for your support. ❤️❤️❤️

Wouldn’t take much to put barriers around the horses…. People could still take photos without getting too close. I think it would help reduce the everyday stress for the guards and horses in particular. Barriers could be moved at the end of each day.

@@kathellison8084 I can’t remember the title of it atm, it’ll come to me eventually, when it does I’ll let you know!! It’s a real pita not being able to share links or photos etc on here, it would make things a little easier to deal with, as would the translation facility which seems to be on part time these days! Yes, I’m afraid that I got the mule genes 🫏 from my father, if I think I’m right then I’ll dig my heels in once I’ve checked! If I think I know but am wavering slightly I’ll spend hours trying to confirm or not but jeez, Google has gone from bad to worse over the last few years, it even contradicts itself at times. I have a few books on the history, tradition etc of HCMR but it’s downright frustrating sometimes trying to get a definitive answer; then there’s the problem of some things being known by different names according to where people come from or how good their spelling is! One that I’ve been having to use rather more than I’d like lately is ‘Bridoon’ or ‘Bradoon’ I wrote a comment or a reply sometime last year I think about the ‘collar chain’ but someone told me it was a ‘Bright Chain’ which is a term that I’ve heard before but couldn’t place, that took up several hours and didn’t get me anywhere! One thing about me though is I don’t tell lies, my memory is too bad 😜 but there are a few people that like to accuse other people of lying, then I can get a little grumpy!! I’m also not too proud to ask on here if I can’t find what I need but some people take that the wrong way also! I love it when you get to a post before me which is most of the time, I tend to get sidetracked somewhere between the notifications, watching the videos and reading the comments, that’s another thing I miss though, being able to copy and paste a comment, I feel like a broken record a lot of the time! I do back down sometimes though, I’ll discuss a subject ad nauseum if the other person is willing but when they get personal or plain nasty, I cba so I give warning and deploy elsewhere! I think that I’ve capitulated twice this week because it’s got around to the ‘wee small hours’ and I can’t see any point in continuing, I might also say that I’m going to bed and will continue next day but that’s not wise, twice I’ve done that and then can’t remember what vid it was on! I totally surpassed myself recently, I said that I’d be back next day but then got myself a weeks mute on YT!! 😂😂😂😂 That was my first one, I have stacks of them on Fb! Anyway, keep up the good work, you talk a lot of sense and hopefully you’re helping the people who are genuinely interested in the horses or the Household Cavalry!

@@kathellison8084 I’ve found one of them, not sure who says what in which video, chances are that some may have been deleted also, not by me I hasten to add! It’s by @ Walking Through London ‘THE KINGS GUARD IS ANGRY’ That’s enough to bug me right there, as I’m sure that you know ‘The Kings Guard’ are the foot soldiers, The HCMR are ‘The Kings Life Guard’ bit daft really, it must be confusing when one of the two regiments of ‘The Kings Life Guard’ are THE LIFE GUARDS!!😳’

Does the tourist perfume smells bother the horses
@j.ksmith7432
@j.ksmith7432 7 ай бұрын
It used to be thought that horses would react badly to smells and some may well do. All I can say is that the only smell that I know will set off a large proportion of horses is pigs!! We used to deliberately take awkward customers past a pig farm at one of the yards I worked at. For myself though, two of my horses reacted badly to pigs when being driven in Windsor Great Park, I bought myself a pig, let it free roam, the horses soon got tired of leaping around snorting every five minutes!!

If he had something irritating that spot, he would likely rub it on some surface like his stall. It probably was noticed & addressed before he was tacked up. Horses are a lot like 3 y/o kids. Curious but not aware of dangers behind actions. I wish I had a penny for every nick & ding my horses got on their own!

Hopefully soon they’ll be put out of the publics reach. They did it at Buckingham Palace with the guards who use to stand outside the gates , after they got fed up of being used and abused.
