The entire story is dark. The only reason it doesn't seem dark to the reader. Is because you are follow the Luffy's story. Which is a tale of the will of someone named Joyboy, who used a devil fruit and passed it down. We are at the one finally chosen by the fruit to follow form with it. So the one that has the potential to complete the will of joyboy. So you are watching the uplifting events unfold. If you rewatch the entire show. You will see every part of it is horrible and sad. Luffy is alone in a barrel and shows up on a pirate ship. Which is the normal thing in this world. Fill with people that are attacking another ship. Everyone but 1 person is mean and hateful. Then luffy beats them up and wins. Then continues to win. The only time we see a dark moment in the story. Is when ace is shown to us. Since we are watching most of the events through luffies eyes. We only see random moments of the real harsh world that is one piece. Tbh there is barely any happiness. Why luffy's crew and ship is all about dreams. They are the crew of dreams that sails on the ship of dreams across the world to chase dreams. Why luffy's fruit power is dreams. He can make anything he can imagine come true. Basically Oda told us that luffy can make dreams come true.

imagine if xebec was actually not that bad of a person and was just like luffy and roger. and he had friends in god valley so when he saw what happened there he snapped and started killing everyone. that's when roger and garp came to stop him, and to cover up the "population eradication" game, they put the blame on xebec and that he's the one that killed everyone on the godvalley. and that's also why garp doesnt want to talk about it cause he was protecting the real criminals

Rocks and his crew are there because they sniffed the Devil Fruits as rewards for that CD human hunting event. They somehow succeeded because WB, Big Mom and Kaido got their fruits in exchange of Rocks Pirates disbanding and Rocks being dead.

I think Ginny is Bonney’s mom, not Luffy’s mom. Both Luffy and Bonney love eating, hence the possible confusion. Here’s my theory, Kuma and Ginny eventually get together and Bonney is Kuma’s biological kid thru Ginny (Both have pink hair, love eating). Or..Ginny eventually gets pregnant (not from Kuma), gives birth to Bonney, but through some unfortunate event, is dying and can’t take care of Bonney. So, Ginny ends up giving Bonney over to Kuma as this incredible sense of trust and love she’ll probably have for him. Both options still show us that Kuma and Bonney are a father daughter thing…..or Ginny is just a rando that dies in the next flashback. *update - Figure I try to make an update after reading some of the comments, 1 new possibility could be that Bonney is a clone of Ginny, who probably gets to know vegapunk while being with Kuma and then dies, but who really knows at this moment? Also, yes technically we don’t know what Ginny’s color hair is at the moment…but c’mon. It’s probably pink, or purple, or blue, or even red. Point is, we’ll find out eventually

I have zero idea why people think Jinny is Luffy’s mom. Jinny is very clearly related to Bonney (pink hair, massive food is also related to Bonney’s eating habits, Kuma being present and knowing her). Dude, Occam’s Razor clearly points towards Jinny being related to Bonney, not Luffy. Don’t forget that Jinny is Ivankov’s sister too, so if Jinny was Luffy’s mom that would make Ivankov Luffy’s uncle (aunt?) despite the fact that Ivankov never knew about Dragon having a family. There’s no way she’s Luffy’s mom.

The word for "big brother" that jinny uses in the japanese doesnt nessecarily mean sibling, its the same one that frankie's subordinates called him (aniki). It CAN show blood relation, but it really doesnt have too. Especially since there is another word which means "big brother" which ONLY refers to your actual sibling, and she choose not to use that one.

Something they only suspected to be possible because Dragon always faces the East Blue. In the panel where the "event" is announced seems like there are visible 6 treasure's chests. Could it be that in one of them there'd be a little red-haired boy to be found? I hope the God Valley flashbacks continue in the next chapter, and I assume it's just moment before the Rocks Pirates attack that island. I don't think that Rocks would have liberated these slave tournament participants out of the goodness of his heart, but maybe there was a member of some race he desired among them. Alternatively, Big Mom attacked the island first to get some races for her future kingdom and the Rocks Pirates joined her later.

I think this chapter could answer few unsolved questions like.. 1. How did fisher tigher escape from celestisl dragons ? - as shown in this chapter every few year celestial dragons hold eradication tournament & just like kuma ,fisher tiger got chance to escape free from them & he was a fishman so he just needed to jump in sea to escape (unlike regular human need boat or something) - slves were bounded with chain around their neck but i think at that time there was no exploding chain lock around neck (We do not see those on ivankove ,kuma & others) 2. Why did fujitora blinded himself ? - just like this chapter ,he might have witnessed the massacre of many many innocent people by celestial dragons

I always have this question. We've seen a lot of the slave are strong people. Pirates, fish men, etc. A lot of the were captured when they were adults and I think they would already had some haki training. Why no one try to break the chains them self. And his father was probably trying to win him back, or there's a possibility he gave up his son up as a prize. I was curious about what looked like the "rewards" in one panel. The chests, it made me wonder if like blackbeard, rocks was searching for a specific fruit, and the rewards were devil fruit(possibly including the one he wanted). I dont know how "plot" helping it would be, but rodger hearing about having to stop rocks from his voice of all things stepped up and convinced garp to help him? I also thought ginny was bonnies mom? Possibly satrun may have restritions to his abylity, like if he was omnipotent why didnt he just finish off bonnie or luffy with his abylity instead of tryin to stomp luffy and have bonnie shot. Some sort of limit based on fear or perception? (Similar to big mom) I wonder if his abylities are tied in some way to the yokai that his fruit is designed after? Just my thoughts on that chapter.

While I think it is more obvious of Jinny being the mother of Bonny (Oda and his similar names for the family again) there is one thing that broke my heart when thinking about the last page: Ivankov and Kuma knew each other for so long. Jinny being Iva's sister (If not biologically, they at least treat each other like it). When Iva faced Kuma at Marine Fort...seing what happen to his comrade, what happend to his friend, what happend to his brother in law perhaps? How close they must have been over the years and the confrontation of his friend being just gone. It just hurts to think about.

There is a details that is bugging me in this chapter. The panel where the hunt is announced the one that does , is standing at a high ground platform with 6 (i think ) pillars and each one has a box on the top. Many times we have seen devil fruits be put in boxes like this , so maybe, those are like rewards for the celestial dragons with the best performance on the hunt ( we saw Garling losing some king of points relative to the hunt) and that's the target of Xebec?

i don't think that if those were DF's that they were the targets of Rocks. it wouldn't make much sense for him and his crew to attack the Government and World Nobles for six totally random and possibly highly useless devil fruits of which he would ultimately have no idea what they would do unless he had pictures of all six fruits in those boxes plus a book about all at that time known DF's (like the one Sanji had as a kid when he looked at the Invisibility fruit). but that would at least explain how Big Mom just randomly happened to be carrying the dragon DF during the God Valley incident and only gave it to Kaido during God Valley and not at some point before. if that's the case it could be very likely that four of those were the DF's of Whitebeard, Kaido, Ivankov and Kuma

My theory is that Rocks attacked the island to take the world nobles hostage. A large group like that would obviously a powerful bargaining chip with the WG. When they however refused his demands (whatever they were), he probably threatened to kill everyone one the island (including the islanders, slaves, and Celestial dragons), which is when roger interfered.

1.I think dragon was marine , after Seeing cruelty of celestial dragons, he rescued all celestial dragons and took away with Jim , that's why he is the worst criminal in history . 2.May be kuma, dragon, wb,kaido, all got df from there . 3.May be crocodile was also a slave like kuma , saved by dragon, that's why when he heard luffy is dragon's son, by respecting his saviour he helped luffy . 4.May be rocks pirates wanted DF, just like BB , that's why they attacked god valley . Considering his spider-like appearance and the fact that people can not move freely and are suffering attacks from smth invisible it strongly reminds me the Doflamingo's power. I would at least assume that this is the spider net we are talking about, that doesn't allow everybody to move. I'd make the case that Saturn does not have a devil fruit. Usually whenever a new character with a fruit power is introduced, it shows a box with their name, title/rank and what there devil fruit name is. Saturn wasn't shown to have a named fruit. Combine that with the point that he appears to not age over the course of almost 40 years, he might actually just be some kind of mythical creature/demon that when killed becomes a new devil fruit

Just a theory-- i think roger came to god valley to fight stronger opponents and xebec came to island because maybe he wanted obtain something that he knew or he too came there just to fight as we know he wanted to become the king of the world meanwhile garp headed to god valley unofficially (as a member of sword) as the illegal activities were conducted by the celestial dragons so i dont think they would allow marines to interrupt them. Roger saw the unruly tyranny of the celestial dragons and was moved by the grief of slaves so he may have decided to fight along with garp against the CDs. Even though having garling by their side it was too much for the CDs to handle both roger, his crew and garp so the CDs may have tried to bribe xebec and made him fight along with them but still got defeated. But by the recent chapters there has been speculations that the scar on wb chest was given by garling going by the conversation of wb and shanks. Dont know whats gonna happen ☮️✌️

I think we are downplaying Sanji a bit here. His eyebrows are in their normal position, so I can see them flipping, somehow causing him to bust out and possibly have some feats trying to take on Saturn/protect the crew from Saturn. But I guess it depends on how quick Kuma gets to Egghead. If he ends up showing up in Egghead immediately after the flashback, and the Strawhats get away within the same chapter/a couple chapters, then we probably won’t see that. Also, I thought that maybe the group confronting Saturn were stuck due to the magnetic shoes that Shaka gave them with their outfit change when they first landed, and that maybe York broke free and killed Edison and put the command upstairs to do that. But it’s only their feet that get locked to the floor, it wouldn’t cause all their muscles to be frozen. (But I feel as though that plot point has to show back up in the story, or else there wasn’t really a reason to show it.)

My theory regarding the Rocks Pirates is that they were gathering supplies on God Valley when the celestial dragons showed up. And because they saw the opportunity to to take one of the dragons hostage and get a hefty ransom for him, they attacked the celestial dragons. The Marine (vice) admiral Garp gets called to protect the dragons. Garp, with his son Dragon still with the marines at this point, calls his childhood friend Roger, if he wants to help them out save the island. After discovering that the celestial dragons hunt humans for fun, Garp resigns/denounces the title of admiral, Dragon forms the Revolutionary Army with a bunch of former slaves and Roger starts his journey to laugh tale to topple the government this way

You know what would be crazy, if Roger wasn't actually an enemy of Rocks at God Valley, what if they both showed up for similar reasons to take down the powers that be but from different ideals. What I mean is what if they both learned that the Goresei and the Celestials would be there, and what if the Rocks pirates went there to try and wipe all of them out, and Roger showed up with knowledge of the Gorosei and possibly Imu, and they were only there for them (with the assumption being if they are actual demons), and somehow that is how they ended up also fighting against Rocks. At the end Luffy and crew will have to make a decision determined by what they will learn about the true history, and everything, which Rayleigh is waiting to see if they come up with a different conclusion than what they were able to. What if they came to the conclusion that at the very least the Gorosei (if they didn't know about Imu) are unbeatable demons secretly ruling over their world, and they know all of civilization are slaves, including the Celestials whom they are favoring for whatever whim. Obviously Whitebeard has firsthand knowledge of what happened on God's Valley, to what extent? hopefully soon we will find out, but why after Rocks, was the remainder of his time as a Yonko spent protecting territories (especially now that we have the context, regarding the Celestial's culling game that has now come to light). With this new context, some of the seemingly throw away lines or actions just hit different.

Maybe Rocks was protecting God Valley like Whitebeard did to many islands (which could explain why Whitebeard himself did it after the Rocks Pirates dissolved). The WG wanted to resources at GV but needed an excuse to completely wipe the Island for their benefit and so they dragged Rocks into their propaganda and had him fit their narrative. I've been a very very firm believer in the fact that Rocks was NOT in fact a terrible guy and I still believe that once we get the full backstory, this will be confirmed one way or another.

Sniffing the rewards involved in that event makes Rocks to go there so his young commanders Whitebeard, Big Mom and Kaido would get their Devil Fruits.
