It's the first time I had to cut a module video in two. This part is the overview and introduction, the second part is a dry algorithm reference. So part 2 can be a bit long and boring.

Had the plug in way back when. Great to see it is now out there as a module.

Thank you .. "choice stress", that's a good term. It's one thing to suspect that there are features/techniques/tools being missed, and not being utilized, .. and another to know for sure, that this is the case. Distortion seems to be yet the thing, that some distortion is good, or very good .. where, more distortion goes the other way, being worse than nothing, at all.

It's a Dutch expression that works here too. In eurorack, we're used to get what we see as we turn knobs. I think Ohmicide beats the Ruina Versio sonically, but the Versio is one knob per function, and non modal. If you want something, you'd dial it in. Ohmicide is still a ported VST, where settings are saved with your project. It just doesn't work in euro. But these algorithms are all worth exploring, which makes it hard to pick the right one for the right job. The easiest way to cope with this is to just don't care, jam, and be happy with everything that comes out. The art of not giving a f*ck.

@@CinematicLaboratory Yes, .. and you would know, much more than I .. you just have to see, when you get something like this .. about the results. What's nice is, .. there's soo much range, in modules, made in these past few years, .. in my opinion, almost everyone should be able to find their own ideas of "sweet spots". Interesting thing, this .. digital distortion. I looked at the manual for Ohmicide, .. I didn't see a "clock in", .. but, hopefully there is that function? That feature .. lately, anything I've been doing, .. I try to clock in.

@@user-ng9uc3vu3k Honestly, I looked at the manual and the menu and I could not figure out the sequencer. The manual looks like work in progress. In a real workflow I don't see myself programming a sequence but stick to one algorithm, probably a hand full that suit my music best.

Yeah digital is the worst I recommend throw away your smartphone too and build a analog one 😂

@@CinematicLaboratory The one I was working on today is source signal into Rings (2 note polyphony Modal mode) with "Position" modulated at a sub-audio rate by Tides; with Marbles' slowest smooth Y signal controlling Tides' "Shape". Let's just say I lost 2 hours to listening to it this morning and "recording worthy"!

@@CinematicLaboratory My statement was a bit short. I have a lot of digital distortion based on VST. No plug-in that I know of can really come close to the sound of analog hardware. I also apply that to VST synthesizers. In the box I like to work digitally, especially with sample-based synthesis such as granular synthesis. But in the Eurorack I prefer to stay analog, which was its original purpose.
