"Don't you ever forget my foolish pride" Easily the best quote of Oikawa, with it, he told so much about himself that a lot people easily miss. Someone who is not amazing talent like a lot of people he faced and with him showing what pure hard work can do and make even the most talented players afraid of him is something incredible. Not even choosing the easy way out by joining shiratorizawa was so amazing in my eyes and made me respect him so much.
@juliafreitas58882 жыл бұрын
Actually I don’t think going to shiratorizawa was the best option for him. One of the things that really interested me was Oikawa's relationship with Hinata. It was something we never have seen much. Oikawa once saw Hinata as a great decoy, and someone he needed to be careful of, but he never was really tied to his past. Now, they would form a friendship. And because of playing with Hinata, Oikawa was able to find fun in playing volleyball, that he began telling of "going back to being a beginner again" something Hinata experienced during the ball boy arc.

U shall remember that oikawa was the first character that introduced in haikyuu who impressed not only Hinata but karasuno as whole team, and I believe he is the reason that karasuno developed so much in their beginning. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but for me, the entire story of Oikawa's growth as a person and as a volleyball player is made even more special when you know that Oikawa was officially adopted by the UPCN San Juan. Their players and even the coaches made congratulatory videos on his acceptance to the team and I was extremely proud of Oikawa, the Haikyuu community and Furudate-sensei that made it even possible. I have never seen this level of love for a fictional character who has inspired me and others before and it makes me teary-eyed just thinking of it. While Haikyuu may have ended, it's impact in the world will continue to live on in our hearts and memories.

It’s amazing how Haikyuu’s themes are so well drawn out and relatable to each other. I’ve been watching this and thinking about Bokuto’s childhood coach when he said “Think about what’s fun, not what’s easy”, and Kita’s quote “Being able to take hurdles head on is just as much of a talent”, and it just goes to show how this story does an exceptional job at reminding us of the core elements its trying to convey over and over and over again through many beautiful and diverse characters. Haikyuu is genius.

Someone in twt pointed out that in the new one shot when Kuroo goes for Oikawa he doesn't need to lure him with anything (like to have revenge againts Kageyama and Ushijima) and when he goes for Ushiwaka he says that he can play against 'Hinata (who beat him in the Adlers vs Jackls) and Oikawa', so you can guess that Argentina won, moreso If you take the real Olympics. Oikawa was always my favorite character (even when everyone hated him) and I always wanted him to succed but GOD If it did surpass my expectation. Oikawa leaving everything behind and starting from zero in another country, struggling alone and by his own decision yet coming out victorious. Oikawa wanted to eat the world and he did, him being now the wall that Japan has to climb to reach victory is so ironic; he didn't wanted to be a monster, he wanted to be more. And as Oikawa says, those monsters who he used to be afraid of are now just stepping stones on his way to glory.

On the side note, I sometimes think about the similarity of Oikawa and Tanaka which people might think weird but they actually have few things in common. Both are not monster/genius, manage to overcome their hurdles and reach their goals. However, the difference between them is their mindset. Young Oikawa mindset believe he can't overcome those hurdles he will be facing while Tanaka always try to surpass it as long as he know his chances are not 0. It makes me think, no matter what mindset people have. If what their dreams they strive to achieve is stronger than the mind block they give for themselves.
