What a beautiful style of painting. Although I've never met you, or know you personally, the most prevalent emotion I feel throughout this piece, is your brush and knife work with use of color. It's soft, gentle, subtle, almost pixelated. The cold wax accentuates these emotions with visualized impressionistic small / multicolored strokes up close, yet a smoother, softer over all read at a distance and tones of emotion with long-standing talent to create this. I am so impressed with your style and ability.! Well done! Thank you.

Thank you very much. Good idea. I plan on doing blog type videos from inception to completion, but they're alot more arduous I think one reason is that I plaint alot from previous sketches or a photo or two that have nothing in common with the finished painting. Don't want to confuse. But considered. Great to have you again

I love the the whole prosess , I realise this is not something one can do instantly but I do think some practice and using your own thought process could develope your own style or technique either Landscape, Portrait or Still life which sounds very exciting to me. I would like to thank you for being so generious with showing these videos. Many out there only give tid bits and then hit you with some sort of cost! So I believe rewards come from generosity and I'm sure you will be rewarded. Vielen Dank and Tschuss.

Great to see you again. Thank you for the support. I've decided to start the channel with figurative work as most of what I teach can be translated in portraiture...having said that I'm thinking of shifting into cityscape work soon. I varnish most all of my work, but the ones done with cold wax don't require it so I don't. I like the finished satin look. You may increase the sheen by buffering the final work after thrloroughly dry. Great question. See you soon. Cheers

So intrigued by your process and watching the evolution of your vision! Thank you for being a guide to walk us through the inner workings of your mind as the piece progresses! I'm brand new to your channel and really to painting...do you ever use impasto medium in your oils? If so I'm wondering how it compares to cold wax?
@zr_fine_artКүн бұрын
Welcome Jennifer. Thanks for connecting. Cold wax is in fact an impasto medium that imparts that velvety finish that I talked about. Alot of mediums are intermixable (to increase/decrease glossy, flow, body etc) We'll cover this in thr future, but unfortunately/fortunately there are many choices. Alternately you can try liquid impasto. However if you're new to painting, don't work with any mediums and just get a feel for the paints themselves. Hope that helps. Cheers

Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately my french is not that good so I'll respond in English. I find that most of my cold wax works are relatively dry overnight certainly for layering or reveling underneath layers. However if you plan on varnishing (which you do not have to do as it will change the sheen and wax is fine), is would wait 3-6 months. Depends on how thickly you paint. I like the matt look so I don't varnish. You may buff the work, once dry to increase sheen. Hope that helps. Thanks for connecting
