Great video. Can you remember the torque settings for the bolts. I would think there be something small like 10nm as it’s plastic like the rocker cover 👍

This leak would that give you a vacuum leak as the pcv would be sucking air in from their causing misfire and rough idle

mine is starting to leak as well, but i also need intake valve carbon cleaning so i think i'm going to remove the intake manifold and also remove the oil filter housing from there.

For that you need a pump and a special feting to put the fluid true the drain , but is better if you remove the pan and replace the filter as well

My guy, i have a question. My oil cooler failed, all the oil mixed in with antifreeze inside the antifreeze bottle... Do I need to flush engine or just drain? I drained oil...replacing new oil housing and oil cooler... I think I'm removing valve cover too.... Looks like a lot of cream mix behind PCV and in the hoses.... This normal?
@nestorautorepair
@nestorautorepair 2 жыл бұрын
Hi replace the cooler , change the oil and drained the coolant , drive the car for like 30 minutes and during the oil one one time and drain it when engine is hot not when cool

i have a question for you if you’re still replying to comments. For the 4 bolts holding the oil filter housing on, how did you access the top left bolt? there is some kind of bracket in the way and there is not enough room for me to get a socket back there.
@nestorautorepair
@nestorautorepair 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Hi yes if you remove the front part of the housing you can get access to the blots
@packmxn
@packmxn 3 жыл бұрын
@@nestorautorepair i’m not sure what you mean by that. there is a black bracket that is attached to what looks like a coolant line right in front of the top left bolt on the oil filter housing. did you have to remove the bracket to access the bolt?

I believe I remove a bolt to be able to flex the pipe and get the cooler bolt out

If the deal is leaking the housing will crack soon , so this is not a easy job and I'm sure you don't want to come back in 3 month and pay the labor again

@@nestorautorepair huh, it makes sense but why would it crack tho? I am doing my own car right now and btw you don't have to drain the coolant just crimp the hoses with some vise-grips (make sure to tube the grips so you don't damage the hose). I guess I will swap my housing as well to be safe... thx.

Guys help me out, I changed the engine oil cooler, the transmission oil cooler and the head gasket on my Golf 5 Gt, but I still find oil in my coolant
@nestorautorepair
@nestorautorepair 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank, When there's oil in the coolant system after replacing the bad part, you still have to flush the heater core, radiator and coolant lines with flush chemicals.
@lukew2194
@lukew2194 4 жыл бұрын
How many hours did this take you to do? Did you drain the coolant from the radiator?
@nestorautorepair

40 minutes and yes you need to drain the coolant and change the oil after this repair
@lukew2194

@@nestorautorepair You drained the coolant by disconnecting the lower radiator hose? Did you get the full 2 gallons of the fluid out? How much would I have to pay to have this done by somebody or a shop? I'm shocked it only took you 40 minutes, most posts on forums describe this as a nightmare job (I have seen some people remove the whole front end to do this). Did you remove the radiator fans? Did you have problems with air in the cooling system after this job?
@nestorautorepair
@nestorautorepair 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I unplug the lower hose ,, the engine will still have some coolant in it and it will fix with the oil that's why you need to do an oil change after this , you need to bleat the system have the car in ramps or jack stand facing up running untill the hear get hot ,, a job like this I will charge labor $300... No the radiator fan don't need to come out
