Next Level find! That pinhole eaten through the filter housing hopefully made a nice illustration for the customer of what's undoubtedly going on in the bottom of his old ass tank. Hopefully he keeps an eye out for tank leaks, or considers replacing it before it does.

I like what that guy said, It's only oil....lol....then one day you come home and realize two or three hundred gallons of it are all over your basement! I wouldn't even want to THINK about what a mess that would be. The environmental concerns alone! Never saw a filter housing leak like that. Good catch Steve!

and that guy wanted Steve to throw out the dirty absorbent pads cuz he didn't want the smell to get into the house, and didn't want to touch them himself because he didn't want the smell on his skin. yet, he's fine taking a chance on that old tank taking a shit and dumping what....200+ gallons of that smelly oil all over the floor?? that guy hahahaha!

Great job Steve. lucky you brushed out the old filter housing as thoroughly, obviously the old gundge was partly sealing the pin hole.

Hey Steve, I run across a problem with a Beckett oil burner would fire up, but keep sputtering out, so i went in and checked pump pressure, nozzle, filters etc, but all checked out good, but still the problem. It urns out to be the tank apparatus, it's a Roth oil tank with the apparatus on the top of the tank that has a supply and return line setup. The oil over time softens the rubber tube that sits in the oil and when the burner runs, the suction collapses the tube, and the result is lock out and no heat. I replaced the apparatus with a duplex fitting and sent copper tubing in the tank and whoola, plenty of oil flow. Have you ever run into this problem?

Your printer is probably a thermal printer which generates heat to do the printing on heat sensitive paper. If so, strong batteries are key to good printing.

Steve, A few things. This is mostly useless info HaHa!! I have that same exact pair of channel locks as you. I'm a generator tech in the Boston area, and I have a nipple kit of various sized nipples for doing oil changes. I keep them channel locks with that kit. I also started that same ketogenic diet as you. I've lost just over 20lbs in a little over a month.. thanks for that.. Also, My outdoor tank tipped over after the guy filled it a few years back.. Insurance company spent about $230,000 on the cleanup.. They went after the oil guy for subrogation.. It was his second spill in as many months.. He ended up selling the company. Both instances were due to old tanks. What got him was that they argued that he should have not filled the tanks due to their condition, and he should have known better.. This went on for 5+yrs.. My spill is what sparked the code change for the Sleeved copper tubing.. You don't want the EPA in your life at all.. don't dick around with your oil tanks. If you even think for a second they are vulnerable.. Replace them!! A Roth installed is a few grand.. it's cheap insurance..

Steve, your printer problems COULD just be a printer image paper problem. Just a suggestion. I had a similar problem with ,my HP printer. If this isn't good. At least I tried to help you
