Wow this was a really good video. I just got some acrylic paints and your point about adding a color that you don't have in oil pastel was timely. Also it was helpful to speak about the layers of oil pastel and addressing how to keep it from being muddy. Also watched the erasing video and that was helpful too.

When using oil pastels I would use Sennelier's Oil Pastel Fixative

I have a black and a white acrylic and a box of inexpensive pastels (given to me as gifts). Now I know what to do with them. I mainly do watercolor with a bit of pen and ink and lettering and occasionally gouache, but when someone gives me a gift I try to make use of it.

Great video!!! I paint with acrylics but want to add some oil pastels at the end fir mark making and accentuating areas. How do you fix it to varnish it when finished? Thanks.

Yes with Sennelier Oil Pastel Spray or with Krylon Spray Varnish. But it's important to wait a few weeks for oil pastels to harden before spraying.

Beautiful video again. Btw i use pantel's oil pastel but whenever i try blend it by using ma fingers or baby oil, it destroys pigment of oil pastel so i started to use brighter colors for blending but any advice for finger-blending?

If you're having a lot of trouble with Pentels it might be because they dried out a bit (if they are older). Also maybe try using watercolor paper that isn't too textured it might help. When paper is too smooth (less porous) oil pastels get patchy. Watch this ► kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmbcq5ywjsuridE

How do you seal the painting ?what type of fixative?

Sennelier makes an Oil Pastel fixative. You can also use epoxy resin :o) But the best thing is to just frame it under glass.
