Have to hand it to Arvidsson there. That has to be the most skilled and most cleverly disguised dive ever executed in NHL playoff history. The refs still messed up the call on the review by not sending Arvidsson to the box with an additional penalty for diving, though.

For the dude getting hit, you don't want your skate on the ice when your body is being twisted. Otherwise you can risk a twist either on the knee or ankle with the edges of your skate being firmly on the ice. It does look bad but sometimes it's safer going with the fall.

I think you are missing the call. The stick of Nurse basically plows through Arvidsson's ankle. Nurse had it braced by his shin pad. It was a good all, a trip. Not a knee on knee.

By rule it’s a foul since there IS contact, but the player embellishes it and takes it too far. There is no place for acting in hockey, or any sport. It ruins the integrity of the sport. ANYONE can look at the way Arvidsson fell and know it was exaggerated/unrealistic.

My guy and they were both going 20kmph in opposite directions and hit skate on skate, that can cause what happened without exaggeration, he was trying to skate around the hit so his weight was on the other side making him easier to flip when it happened. There was no over exaggeration.

Dude he is going at high speed. If you ever played any high level of hockey before you would know that he isn't diving. He is smaller and was trying to get out of the way so his weight wasn't fully on his skate. That's why he went flying. That's why knee to knee contact can get a major penalty. It's very dangerous.

The foot is not what tripped arvidson. Watch nurse’s stick make contact with arvidson’s knee. The stick is braced on nurses upper leg so arvidson can allow the contact to spin him and take him into the air, or he can have his knee hyperextended and ripped in half. Dangerous play by nurse and the kings need to rock him into the boards tmo. (Cleanly without a penalty hopefully)

Arvidson faked that, he did the same thing 4 years ago nearly to the same player who was nurse but another took the penalty. It was when he was playing for Nashville. Play should have been blown down the instant the puck went into his skates. Nurse wouldn't have went for the hit and arvidsson wouldn't have tried to avoid it which, honestly, is the only reason it was a trip to begin with. If he didn't shift towards center ice there would have been full contact. There was no extension by nurse so you can't really call it a trip if arvidsson caused it by not getting fully out of the way.

I kinda see the dive but of course you'll go flying with contact like that. There is pretty heavy contact to the foot at a high-ish speed and the reaction is similar to a knee on knee at a similar speed. I guess the hands go up pretty early but that could just be a automatic reaction to losing your balance.
