All the naysayers in the USA gave me all the same "warnings" when I expatriated to the Philippines. All of them were wrong, in their arrogant assumption that they knew all about a place on the other side of the planet that they have never seen. I live in the province, but still prefer it to the West.

Well done, Brian. Thanks for sharing your experiences in the Philippines. Visit the provinces and feature other spots. You will be amazed at how beautiful the islands are. Enjoy your stay here.

Hopefully not. For a "travel vlogger" it's stupid that he calls everything "manila" just because he is walking on concrete. "Manila" refers only to that small city at the west coast of the NCR. Everything beyond it is not manila anymore. For example, BGC is not in Manila. It's in TAGUIG.

you’ll definitely see more developments happening in different areas of Manila and even outside the metro! Philippines has become one of the fastest growing economies in the Pacific region!

Tell him to stop calling everything "Manila" just because he is walking on concrete. "Manila" refers only to that small but historic capital city at the west coast of the NCR. Everything beyond it is NOT manila anymore. For example, BGC is NOT in manila. It's in TAGUIG.... BGC, TAGUIG.

We live near Tagaytay. Manila it all depends where you are at. However for the most part, from Okada, Binondo, Divisoria, Pasay, MOA, Ayala Manila Bay & One, Glorietta, Makati & Taguig SM Auora/Market Market, it’s decent. Even BACLARAN and the seafood wet markets Palenke are worth the visit.
@uchniezt121214 күн бұрын
Okada is not in Manila. It's in Paranaque. Pasay is Pasay, It is a city on its own. It is NOT in Manila. MOA is not in Manila. It's in Pasay. Ayala Manila Bay is not in Manila. It's in Paranaque. Glorietta Makati is not in Manila. It's in a Makati -- a city on its own. Taguig is Taguig. It is a city on its own. It is not in Manila. SM Aura and Market Market are NOT in Manila. They're both in Taguig. Know your geography. NCR (formerly, "Metro Manila") is a region. "Manila" is just one of many cities in it.

I live in Phillipines permanently. Ive been back and forth seven times, all on philippine airlines. The attendants are warm and friendly and very accomodating. I think the most i ever paid was 1300 round trip, me and my wife. I couldn't imagine doing it on an american carrier. Oh, and one other thing, 90 percent of the passengers are filipino, no rude or entitled Americans

BGC is just one of the grand plan to fully develop our greater Manila. Just take C5 and you will find several sprouting mini cities. Those will be the staples of metro manila in a not so distant future. Meanwhile, those in the 1st world are trying to survive daily under a chaotic environment. Sad but true ❤

That's BGC, that is just a small piece of CBD that's well developed and it's expensive there. Next to it are hinterlands around Taguig. Philippines is still 3rd world. The economy maybe rising but it does not benefit the lower case as much. Go to Tondo, or harbor areas. It's tougher there.
@michaelwhatley7907Ай бұрын
Exactly. He's just not TOALLY honest, even though I enjoy his videos a lot. Im in VIETNAM now for about a year and am returning to Philippines, BGC but this is after 10 years of Philippines, I KNOW the difference but others will not. He makes it seem that the bad stuff he was told does not exist and that is a horrible assumption for anyone to think or believe.

These videos are beyond excellent and very creative and yet they are NOT the full story. THE TRUTH is both views of the Philippines are very right. DUMAGUETE IS NOT BGC. For those watching he is speaking of ONE AREA ,BGC. All the bad stuff you said people told you DOES EXIST IN MANY AREAS OF THE PHILIPPINES. IM 60 didn't just get here yesterday and start a channel; been at it over 10 years and have lived and experienced the good the bad and the ugly and it ALL exist in Philippines. Personally I wished I had of gone to BGC OR EVEN CEBU over DUMAGUETE were I spend 4 years. Just did a stint in DAVAO for four months and it was very nice, but I have also lived on SIQUIJOR,SIBULAN and other places that DO NOT in a million years resemble BGC. So yeah, we see what you are doing and you are correct...ABOUT BGC but BGC IS NOT the whole story of the Philippines. Just give a real honest showing. But if you landed there THAT IS ALL YOU KNOW; does not mean the bad and the ugly does not exist because it certainly does. It does not mean that everyone else lied to you about the Philippines. American just kidnapped and killed, in a place that was not BGC, BUT IN PHILIPPINES but thats where HE landed.

As an expat who has lived in Manila for two years, this video kinda like going to South Africa, staying in white gated community and telling the world how safe all of South Africa is. Manila is a city of disparity with lots poverty and like every Capital city, has plenty of crime. If you are going to post vlogs, show both sides of the story….film the poor areas too as a contrast!

Filipino here. I'll say this about US Politics. Ever since Biden got into office, regional wars have been springing up all over the world, food prices have risen ~170%, Gas, etc. We like Trump because he embodies the values that matter to us: he's nice to nice people, rewards hard work, points out issues straight and he raised his kids into fine people.
