my dad passed 14 yrs ago, and i still miss him.......and this song made me cry as if he just left .......he had Alzheimers and had forgotten my name near the end, but he still remembered i was his son....my last memory of him was calling out of work, going to pick him up at the adult daycare and taking him riding.....i held his hand as we drove down the hiway, and he looked at me the most peaceful smile, as happy as he ever was....... the next week he went into the hospital and passed.....i was so glad i played hooky that day, cuz we thought we had more time....... Ozzy & Sabbath did this song first, Charles took it str8t to the heavens

Dude... I was crying along with you. It's obvious your emotions were from the bottom of your heart. I'm 46 and still have my mom and dad with me. I take care of them and I'm not prepared for the day they leave me. I can't even think about that day!!! Ahhh!!!! Cheers from Brasília-Brazil! God bless you and your subscribers! ❤❤

"I have lost the best friend... that I ever had..." I can not see the video through the tears. I have heard this so many times, and it came to me in a YT recommendation just months before my mother passed. She was my rock. Fortunately I can type because all I can see when I look down are glowing lights on my keyboard because this song just breaks me every time I hear it. --love you mom ♥ I just finished this again - probably went through like 40 tissues lol. Oh man....

I’ve heard the Black Sabbath version many times my teenage years, but the 1st time on Radio play, which they’ve always played the mainstream popular, was the day after my mom passed away. The words have so many different meanings you can take from it.. now every time I hear it I think about that day. A week later I heard this version by Charles Bradley.. an incredible rendition that has the same meanings it has for me 🎶🎤💙🥹💙

I just turned 59 this past July. I never known my dad and my mom is still here. However I heard this song when it first came out on the radio. Always loved it! Probably one of the best ballots ever written. About 2 months ago I became aware of this video and now I listen to it everyday and I cry every time I hear it! The emotion poured out in this version... I don't have the words! I will never stop listening to this song and crying every time I listen to it. Right now my son and I are not getting along greatly. I pray that changes before I pass and he listens to this version because he knows this is my favorite and he'll never recover from it. Thank you Charles Bradley and God bless everyone.

There's something about an old man singing about the pains and mistakes in years gone by that hits me right in the heart. Such beauty from such pain, it's an amazing thing.

My condolences. I just looked up this song again because I really needed to hear it, because my grandpa just passed away before Christmas, and it brought up the same memories and pain from my dad and my grandma passing. I think if a soulful scream makes you cry and feel every emotion, it's a necessity.

When my mom passed I knew of this video. Took me a couple of weeks to get the strength to listen to it. Still, 3 years later, brings me to tears immediately. Rest easy mama

Thank you for this reaction. This song helped me through the death of my father. I’ve been where you are right now. It’s been almost 3 years, and the grief still sneaks up on me sometimes. But I find more and more that the memories bring joy alongside the sadness. It sounds like your dad had a huge impact in your life. Cherish those memories! Peace, love, and blessings to you my friend!

First reaction I've seen from you and holy shit subscribed before the end of the video. This song was so big for me when I lost my oldest sister who was like mom jr to all of us and got me like half the jobs I ever worked at because she always went to bat for me even if it was inconvenient to her and her career and was a strong sanctuary through hard times. Thank you for showing your open and honest humanity that shit is beautiful and appreciated every time
