The story that if Okiku counts the last nine plate, people will die of a curse Okiku's ghost was a beautiful woman. So every night a young man gathered to see her, and ran away before hearing “ 9th plate“. One day, a man was late to run away. Then, "10th plate,... 11th plate...". The man asked Okiku. "Why ? ". @@両角-k4q What about the category where they sexualize the monster/ghost and have sex? Is that a new category?
@両角-k4q2 жыл бұрын
@@diablo.the.cheater Originally, stories of death, ghosts, monsters, or strange phenomena abound in folk tale legends or myths Many ghost stories are also included in the classic literature of the late Heian period (around 1120), such as the "Konjaku Monogatari Shu (The Collection of Tales of Times Now Past)" ("reiki (devil of the dead)"), but among the works that remain in a cohesive form based on these themes, "Ugetsu Monogatari (Tales of Moonlight and Rain" (1776) is famous. It was also featured in kabuki subjects such as Yotsuya Kaidan (1727) and Banmachi sara yashiki (late 1700s), and constituted a genre. It became the subject of Kabuki. So it's almost nothing. It's a new genre.

This isn't really related to the myth, but I've been watching the Man in the High Castle. Do you think the Japanese culture is portrayed correctly in it?
@Linfamy5 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert, but it seems to be a good representation. I've only seen season 1. I think the spoken Japanese is sometimes off though, their accents I mean :D That one dude (minister of commerce or something?) is verry spiritual, which is fascinating but not sure if there are many people like that nowadays. Although you could say that in this world, the Japanese were not defeated so they still held on to their belief in the divine nature of the emperor, and spiritual beliefs remained strong among the populace.

I was born and adopted out at Osaka, Japan and when someone wants to learn the Japanese Culture. Its makes me very happy to know that someone wants to learn my culture, I do get a lot of weird looks of my biological family's teachings thou. My biological father side is a strong line of Samurai and Geshia, even thou they are a "Gang" which in Japan we say "Clans" not as a gang. It's mostly the wording that comes to Americans as "A Gang of multiple people in a group: A Gang Family...." which makes it difficult to say that they arent a Gang, just a Clan. Yea some dont want to listen or just roll their eyes, but I tell them "I'm happy you are trying to learn about my culture, but please just throw it to the side because of anime or manga. It's more understandable if you experience it yourself, because there is more then the pages of a manga or a clip of a anime that makes Japan unique and beautiful."

That story was the end of my first relationship in Japan. I took her to Himeiji Castle and she kept finding all this creepy stuff. There's a suicide courtyard, old coffins and statues repurposed into the stone walls, the well itself with the story on a plaque, and just the fact that it's mostly original so it has that creepy old castle atmosphere. Every other word out of her mouth was 'koai!' (scary). There was a pair of suits of armor on one of the floors inside the tower and I asked her if they checked inside them for a missing plate. She didn't think it was funny and ghosted me after an uncomfortable walk back to the station.
