Looks like a nice rod! What would you say is the optimal lure weight that it can cast? Also, would a 11oz reel balance well this rod or be a bit too light?

I like to cast 1.5 oz. or 40 grams. It can cast lighter but you don't get the distance. My Shimano 5000 TP is about 11 oz. so you're good with the reel. It would probably take a 6000 size reel comfortably. Just a side note, after about 100 or so casts the ferrules slip a little but it's easily fixed. Thanks for the comment and watching! Tight lines!

@@eloicplante5087 About 2 ounces max. It casts a large casting bubble fairly far. I use a 5000 size reel which balances nicely. Sorry for the delayed response.

@@richarde1355 I just broke the ferrel on HCS Okuma. I’ll definitely try that out. Thanks for the tip!
