Good call on getting the Alexi MM-04 booster installed, the midboost is essential for the Alexi sound. Don't be afraid to try different settings with the dipswitches. @EclipseAtDusk Жыл бұрын
That pre-amp boost does A LOT as Ola says - it’s not really any different than putting an overdrive before the amp like many metal guitarists do, just slightly different. Damn near every good driven guitar tone out there has *something* in between the guitar & amp pushing things - even Brian May of Queen
@SteelSkin667 Жыл бұрын
To be fair you can't really go wrong with a boosted HZ into a JVM, it's just a good combo. Although the JVM is a fairly late development in Alexi's career, he was using some fancy vintage rackmount stuff before that.
@Gloomshimmer11 ай бұрын
The HZ are quite nice an affordable pus, and theres to much gatekeeper mojo around boutique PUs. The HZ have a nice, not oversaturated distorted tones, but instead of emgs actives a usable cleantone. They handle distortion very good. But dont put to much focus on the pus. The cab is more interesting. Celestion greenback. Has more influence than the pickups on the whole sound.
