The first time I heard Chuck “sing” I almost went into a coma! I grew up in Orlando, Florida and during the 80s there was a show or concert EVERY weekend! I seen so many of them live! Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, Testament, Anthrax, Danzig, you name it and I have the ticket stub! There will never be another time like it! Favourite classic thrash metal band: Metallica. Favourite new wave thrash bands: Evile and Havok. Ps. That answer of the question of the day really touched me. I had that flick of a switch moment after a really tumultuous relationship ended. It's one of my weaknesses that I care too much about what people think of me and that I want to please those people. But when that relationship ended, I just stopped caring...It was such a weird but at the same time relieving feeling. I was always working so hard in school and at work to please others that it brought me to the brink of a severe depression. But having that flick of a switch moment really made me realise what's important in life. And for me those things are my closest friends and bandmates and the good times we spend together, since those are the things you will remember with a smile when you are old. Keep up the good work Ola and Louise! Greetings from a long time fan from the Netherlands.

Anthrax were actually more popular than Slayer and Megadeth at certain points during the 80's and early 90's. If you look at the album chart positions by year, some of their early to mid-career albums were ranked higher than Slayer and Megadeth albums at the time. Their videos were in heavy rotation on MTV and they also had a series of mainstream crossovers like the famous collaboration with Run-DMC on their song "Bring the Noise" and a guest appearance on the episode of "Married With Children", but for some reason since the mid 90s their popularity started declining while the other 3 of the big four were successful at maintaining their relative popularity level throughout the rest of the 90's and early 00's and that's probably why people these days think of them as the 4th of the four, or maybe even undeserving of the spot in the big four. One thing that hit them really hard in the aftermath of 9/11 was the series of terror attacks with letters laced with anthrax that almost caused them to change their name.

This is the most candid and awesome episode I've watched so far. It really shows what a great wife you have Ola, and an insight into your career. I'm so happy that YOU ARE ALL happy.

You forgot about the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Motorhead, Diamond Head, etc. Those are listed as a huge influence on thrash back in the day.

Great video Ola and Louise! Now all I want is to drink coffee and play guitar. Keep up the excellent work. Love the family addition, too. Dogs rule.

It's kind of surprising you left out Pantera on this episode. Ola, and just to say this... I love the beginnings to my Sunday Mornings with you. I also love the new format of "SWOLA" and "Metal Morning" alternating each week. Keep up the hard work and remember how much fun we all have watching the both of you. Congratulations on the new member of the family!!

Morning Ola, tho I'm older than you and Louise I do not have much of a Thrash background. Sorry. But not sorry, because I just got my Solar FanFret 6... delivered on Friday, the 9th. It plays nice, and I'll be finished with my detune string change and setup in a few days. I guess I have to find a Tubescreamer to slap the front of my H&K, huh? ... nah, that's what the Apex for !!! Holy fwack... nice guitar. Thank you for going the fanfret route.

actually the term thrash came from skateboarding, they used to downhill and it was super adrenaline vibe so some dudes went to a slayer gig and someone said:" this is just like thrashin', cause it was fast and it got you goose bumps, adrenaline thing.

Ola seriously doesn't know the lyrics to Damage Inc? I knew them all when I was 16 - lol But then again I used to listen to Master Of Puppets like 2 or 3 times a day back then.
