Earthside - Crater The guest vocalist Bjorn Strid is one of my favourites. He's not the most naturally gifted, but he has developed his voice so amazingly over the years(he started just with screams) and the parts he comes up with, mixing amazing clean melodies and heavy screams are just brilliant. You should also check out his main band Soilwork(a Swedish melodic death metal band), and he also has a 70s/80s rock style band The Night Flight Orchestra where he can show a different side. This guest appearance is also a bit different to what he has done in the past, and it's brilliant. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3yynax8j7GFaLM

Hello hello! Just as this song was what you expressed needing to hear today, your genuine reaction and engagement of our music was just what my mates and I needed today as a dose of inspiration to put in some hours on our new record. Someone who notices our love for Sus chords (and subsequently never resolving them) and dulcimer-esque sounds is a kindred spirit in my book! I'd been geeking out to your Karnivool reacts videos and a couple others, and had been secretly hoping that you might take on this track or our orchestral one "Mob Mentality". So I'm definitely going forward with an added sense of purpose today/tonight. 🙏 Thank you thank you!! Lots of love, Jamie/Earthside P.S. Yes, Daniel Tompkins is absolutely certifiably a bleepin' BEAST. We weren't composing that leap up to the high F in the chorus for anyone else. ;) PPS Also sending our appreciation to everyone recommending music for Geebz to check out. We're honored to be in such wonderful company as other bands reacted to on this channel and to be supported by such brilliant/beautiful humans.

You're probably too humble to call yourself an expert, but as a non-musician that listens to ~60,000 minutes of music per year, I'm loving your expert analysis of these songs I've been listening to for years. So happy to see reaction videos to this song in particular. I was right with you on all your reactions. When I first discovered this song I was on a morning walk listening to a Spotify mix, and I literally stopped in my tracks. Everything changed that moment. I called in late to work. Went home and just listened. Twice. It was more important than anything else to listen to this song again and again and find out who this band was. A Dream In Static is my single favorite album of any band anywhere in... many, many years. This track is admittedly my favorite, because it is pure inspiration and magic, but there are so many amazing songs including Mob Mentality and Contemplation of the Beautiful and one of my other favorites Skyline. It is in my opinion about as close as you get to a perfect album. And for a debut album it is going to be a tough act to follow, but I have no doubt that the follow up will be absolutely stellar. So happy to see someone turned on to Earthside for the first time.

I'm a lifelong gigging musician myself, and it's great to see you discover all of these (non top 40) bands that I've loved and emulated for years. I'm a huge fan of progressive composition as I get bored very easily. That's not to say that I don't love a great chorus/hook. I just crave originality in songwriting. I applaud you for listening to these progressive bands and taking the time to break down the musicality of it all. I have a couple of band suggestions: 1. Fair To Midland who are almost folk mixed with progressive metal. They have a fantastic and unorthodox singer. 2. Corellia who are defunct now (I'll not get into their drama), but man they had so much promise. Please check those two bands out.
