Love this pie & never thought of making it, so thanks for inspiring me! The commercial ones have been such a disappointment, I haven't had any in recent years. I'd be mixing by hand, & was thinking - if I'd add the flour to the butter, & blend that 1st, then add the sugar to help further blend the flour, it should blend completely, & then proceed. Is the crust blind baked or raw dough, before filling? Love those gorgeous chickens; the way people cooked in a Rumford fireplace; & the colors used in that kitchen! I have a faux brick faced wall in my kitchen, & that dark gray would help balance out that expanse of brick. I've thought of painting the brick white or removing it, but a stronger color on the other walls would be so much easier. Though gray is a cool color, with the orange accents, it looks cozy. I have lots of copper moulds, & this color scheme, including the orange, would make it all sing. Happy Spring! My Snow Drops & Crocus are up, & I see buds on the Narcissus scapes!

Good afternoon Allen really enjoy and appreciate the creative and artistic skills our foreparents. I acquired a cast iron frying pan from my neighbor. It's over 70 yrs old and excellent for baking corn bread or just about thing. Will definitely try those delicious recipes, especially the cake, love the colour of it. Appreciated the refresher on tomatoes especially since spring is upon us. Happy gardening and healthy eating 🦋🌷

I must be pining for an older time. My Grandmother made this just the same way. Back as a child I didn't like pecans and would pick them out or spit them out. I know now that must have driven her crazy. Ohhhhh what I wouldn't do for one more slice of her pie. BTW I love pecans now. My sweet sweet Momine. I miss her dearly. BTW do you have a Chess pie recipe?

Around 14:08 of this video about blossom end rot the fellow rightly mentioned calcium deficiency but he neglected to make the important point that plants must have correct soil pH level in order to utilize - to take up - the calcium.

I watched the part on the cake, twice. Is he using one dozen eggs? 6 eggs for the batter and 6 for the whites? I am still confused.
