Barry i got a cool story for ya. In 2013 i met Dave Ellefson. It was on a tour called "Gigantour" feat Megadeth, BLS, Hellyeah, Newsted Band, and another band i cant remember. I went with a buddy who swore he knew how to get to meet the bands after the show even though we had no passes or nothing. I was skeptical, but low and behold after the show, after the parking lot cleared out, all the bands were hanging out by their now unguarded tour buses. So we went back there. We wound up getting to hang out for about a half hour before security caught us! We got tons of sognatures, Vinnie Paul and Chad Grey of Hellyeah, Nick Cantese and JD of BLS, few others.. then we were told to go stay outside the fenced perimeter. But then after all the buses left, here comes Dave Ellefson of megadeth, carrying his own gear, out the back or the venue. Nobosy around. All buses gone. My buddy and i asked him if we could take a picture. He was beyond humble and so cool man. He said "walk with me" and we walked to his car in the parking lot (the only car there now its 1am) and he pops his trunk, plops his bass in the trunk. And also in his trunk was all these shirts and cds and guitar picks. He gave me and my buddy picks, he gave us signed copies of Super Collider (the megadeth album just released at that time) and he took 3 pictures with us. He thanked us for being fans. But then we asked him why is he driving his own car on tour? and not on the tour bus? he said Dave Mustaine and him weren't getting along haha. It was so cool man. 😎 ill never forget that night.
