vadutube Yes, back in the day and even to day a lot of the eastern Block countrys had a Huge influence coming from Folkwrestling styles, but also a lot of stuff from Freestyle Wrestling like Single and Double legs came into judo, the Leg Grab ban was initiated because the IOC thought that Judo and Freestyle looked like the same Sport and wanted to remove one from the Olympics, Judo and Wrestling essentially ARE the same thing, just with a different uniform and and slightly different scoringsystem. But yeah Judo in my opinion is a Form of Japanese Folkwrestling.

Such a beautiful video. I even got to see an Obi-tori-gaeshi which is my favourite throw. Please tell me why you call Tai-otoshi (3:43) and Harai-makikomi (3:55) "old"?

Yes. Can someone please explain the use of loud, annoying as hell techno/dubstub music for videos these days? It's not hard. It's not intense. It's loud and annoying and completely ruins videos.

the techniques are still there, it is still being taught... you just cant use it at a competition where olympic rules are followed

Most dojos' training is competition-oriented, sport rulesets influence your training and if you ban a technique or restrict its use, you make it disappear from your art in practice.

Back before Judo competitions were a joke. Such a shame that you can't go watch this kind of amazing techniques displayed anymore.

@Momsspaghetti7776 жыл бұрын
ime akpan in wrestling you’d describe it as a high crotch and a lift but in this instance the person turned away There’s probably a Japanese term for it but I don’t know
