As Chuck said, Louis and Walcott were a good amount older than Marciano, but Ezzard Charles was only two years older than Marciano. I wonder whether Marciano's grandson has seen this interview. There are no shortcuts to getting good. Marciano deserved all of his his success and perfect record.. He worked harder than anybody, and that deserves the upmost respect.

Marciano beat alot of young guys on his way up to fight Walcott and Charles. Everyone forgets that. Look up Harry Matthews, guy had almost 100 fights and only lost 7. He beat Walcott and Charles. I met Chuck one time and told him he looked like my Grandpa (I’m Italian). He goes, “Yer Grandpa…” sarcastically and takes his fist and fake uppercuts my chin (he made contact with my chin). Now to me, I was paying him a huge compliment to say he looked like my Grandpa (who’s now passed away), but he thought I was being a wise ass. He realized I meant what I said and I wasn’t being a disrespectful punk. Just feeling his huge fat fist on my chin was enough for me to know, no way in hell do you want to get an uppercut from Zito. It’s lights out for real. He’s a good dude, stood and talked with my 2 friends and I for about 15 minutes. This was at 2019 San Diego Comic Con.
