Thanks for this. I'm a single dad and my little girl want all sorts of stuff done, this has helped me. And your good Queen, no need to apologize for anything, yawning, talking etc, makes the video real!!! Thank you

I like the pressing comb too because it lasts longer, But for me the flat iron is more convenient. My mother sometimes straightens my hair for me with the pressing comb and I flinch every time! And she hasn't ever .burned me.

The memories of burnt ears, nape and forehead... 😳 Those were the days. These days I crank up the flat iron (450 degrees) with a lil' pressing wax/oil and go at it. It works me and my clients. Thanks for the memories... 😉

I love 😍 getting my straightened with a pressing comb. Although flat irons are easier i'm not a big fan. The times I've been burned do not change my opinion

A hard press is running the comb more than one pass, w soft press is one pass. I'm a licensed cosmetology manager.

I'm guessing 1 pass is safest for fine hair and how many is recommended for natural coarse hair?

OMG, I used to just HATE getting my hair straightened with those hot combs, when I was a child! It was just TERRIFYING, especially when the nape area was being done! Now I wanna buy myself an electric straightening comb for my nappy hair.

I think all naturals should at least learn the technique. my mother started straighting/pressing my hair in the early 70's. had my skills honed by the late 70's early 80's.

Pressing with flat irons and pressing Combs is almost the same, except with flat irons you can curl and press in one step

Not a good idea to put grease on the nape area because the nape area has short hair- that hot grease will melt and run straight to the skin and burn. It is a good idea to use a towel across the neck area just in case that hot iron slips.

Omg I cringed throughout this whole video. She fried the heck out of her hair! Not for nothing ma'am but you need to learn how to take care of your daughters hair! There were so many wrongs going on! You passed that dern comb too many times through her hair. You should use a flat iron because your p-comb skills are far too inferior. That poor child! You also should not use a grease based product. Try also a heat protectant. Omg I'm sorry but this was very hard to watch!

@@sophiam9886 Nice explanation. I still hot comb my own hair using Kentucky maid hot comb. (Amazon) I also keep a water bottle on hand to quickly cool the comb if it gets too hot. White paper towel test is a must! I have no heat heat damage after several years of hot combing. Deep condition every two weeks
