I recently acquired an Old Town Pack Canoe - Angler Edition. This review includes my initial paddle with the solo canoe and a follow-up review after two months of use.

Ive had my Pack since the mid 90s. Its paddled class II-III whitewater, ponds to reservoirs, and rivers & creeks of all sizes.. Right now its totally rigged out for bass fishing on the lake w stabilizers and a trolling motor. I have a nice pedal fishing kayak for sale because I like my old Pack better. Its a little 33lb wonder. I still single blade it, darn kayak paddle always gets me and the canoe wet.

Dropped my seat and added adjustable foot pegs in mine. I use it on multi night trips and even once on a week long trip in Quetico.

Hi. I bought a Pack two years ago. Finally found one in Madison Wi. About two hours from me. Paid $600. The Roylex had a few scratches, but all in all great shape. I cleaned it up and applied 303 Areospace UV protectant. Really improved the looks and smoothness of the hull. I have the same woven seat. I added a Seatbacker by GCI Outdoors. Now I can use the thwart for foot brace and helps overall comfort and performance. Not that the Pack is a fast canoe, but it’s more efficient. I fish from mine, so speed is not a factor. I use a 240 cm kayak paddle. The 33lbs is unbelievable. Great video, you should show the whole boat in your next one. Happy paddles.

I have thoroughly enjoyed mine. Would take to Boundary Waters if I didn't already have a Kevlar with a registration.

I recently found one! Drove 6 hours to pick it up. Almost new condition and got it a great deal on it ($500). I had bought a 16' Northstar B16 about a year ago.....but was wanted a solo I could go easily by myself and fish from. I have used it 4-5 times so far. LOVE IT! I also use a kayak paddle and that works great.

I have tried several times to enjoy a single blade again, but after double-blading, I don't think I will go back to single.

I Love mine. Bought it like 4 yrs ago. Pristine shape. $400. Best money ever spent. I am 6’1” 275 lbs. lowered the seat and use a seat back with a 1” pad. Very stable. Bass/Trout fish with it. Holds like 600 lbs. used on an overnight and had it stuffed but I am a gear head. Kayak paddle is the way to go

Knowing there are so many minty RX canoes in garages all over the country, longing to be in the water, keeps me up at night. If anyone has, or knows of a Pack, Hunter, or 15' Camper or anything close in RX from MR, Dagger etc. being held prisoner, ready to escape, it would really help me get some sleep. 😏😉

Wow! Congrats! I'd pay 2x that for another. My Pack is 13 years old now and easily the best boat I've ever owned. Man...If only Royalex was still everywhere. Enjoy!

Might be my favorite vessel ever (I also have a Wenonah Kevlar canoe, so it is close)

Great video ! Just curious tho . I’m looking at a used one now and from sellers pics it doesn’t seem to have the OT metal name plate on the bow . The OT logo seems to be molded into the plastic . Is yours the same ?

Yes - molded into the plastic

You are very observant. There is a story behind it, but I do not know it. Must be interesting.
