Awesome video. I purchased one of these a few weeks ago, same color. Love the way you can slow troll, speed up, reverse or even paddle. Use mine in river below hydro plant often against current. 69 years old and the peddle kayak I have and still use some gets a little tougher but I want to continue to be on the water, see wildlife, fish, relax and enjoy life. Perfect for me and with Wilderness HD cart I can move it easily with battery and motor removed. Highly recommend this kayak from Old Town.

@@timjones6637 Still like it just fine. Got method down for loading on cart, movement to water, removing from cart. Spent extra money for Dakota lithium battery ( about 30+ lbs lighter and holds charge longer) but well worth it. I put battery and mk in by the water by myself. Yes still like it very much. Just FYI when using lithium battery you just have to learn when to charge up since lithiums run out without notice. Never had any problem myself however. Great kayak.

I want to thank you for the enthusiasm of your review. I have just begun to take a look at this kayak. I’m an avid fisherman who is about to turn 70. I fish in the Missouri Ozarks and I just can’t get to where I want to go in my paddle kayak. I am ready to move up to something that will get me where I want to go. This may be the ticket. I wish we had a dealer nearby that had these in stock but unfortunately we did not. Thank you so much for a very well done review!

7:25 the guy in the skiff forgot to pull his trolling motor up. As soon as he cleared the no wake zone, I bet he hammered down and ripped that thing off.

My only knock against the autopilot is the thrust, I don't know why they didn't do at least 55 lb thrust. The pedal drives are faster, yes you can't pedal for long distances at top speed, but the fact that you can pedal faster than the motor doesn't sit right with me. It's a new product, but I think in the future they will allow you to select pound thrust going up to 72 lb. All that said, they definitely put other kayak manufacturers on notice, this will revolutionize the game.

The bigwater needs that same motor as an optional pdl replacement. THAT would surely be a valuable commodity. I'd be willing to sacrifice a little weight to have the option of pedaling or motoring on 1 kayak...or I guess buying a bixpy rudder mount motor allows me both at one time.

That badass. Only thing i wish was an option for left hand or right hand throttle choice and instead of one forward facing rod holder there was 2 so it can be ambi. But other than that it looks fantastic.

How would this kayak do in current? I fish Inlets for fluke and the current sometimes is strong. Looking for a good kayak pedal or motor that can handle wake pretty good and current. Upgrading from a pilot 12

I am just starting to look at the 106. My only concern is, is it big enough to get to and from the marsh areas? I'm one of those older guys you mentioned that won't be able to pedal that far and the autopilot is beyond my price range.

The no spot lock is the main reason why I just went with the 106 PDL. 120 is too big for me unfortunately.

I hate the idea of steering a kayak with a remote control.. Spot lock is cool, but a 1500 dollar virtual anchor is a hard buy for me, I will just use a regular anchor, I love the throttle on the side of the 106, like a boat, thats why I bought it.

Battery life?

Michael Prevost depends on the battery you get. My cheap Walmart battery goes all day on my John boat with 50 pound thrust no problem and this has a 45 pound thrust. I usually end the day with a quarter left so I’m guessing 6-7 hours continuous

Now the other model with that I pilot is gonna use a lot more battery this one you can definitely go all day with a normal marine battery no problem

I think the price of the 106 Minn Kota is too high! at $2500.00 should come in at $1250.00 and the 120 autopilot for $3900.00, again $1750.00 I can buy a nice used skiff with lots more room. They are just roto-molded plastic folks. Just My Opinion.
