Open the lid, get a length of parchment paper and do it to fit the bottom and the top plate as one piece then put bread and filling in, no mess at all on the plates or in between the toastie maker 😉

Jeez Keith, what the fook are you playing at.. you need smaller bread, cut the crust off, less filling, sensible filling, (curry amd cheese? Wtf).. and you wonder why it stuck last time with the Aldi one lol Gotta admire your effort and crazy mixes.. I reckon the next one should be sardines, banana, pickled gherkins and marmite..sounds good huh?? Seriously, best combination is cheese, chopped ham slices and raw onion... delicious 😋

I had one of those toasted sandwich makers. Ended up giving it to a charity shop. Only used the thing once and found out more trouble than it was worth. £8 was cheap though. Mine cost more than that. I think it was around £30. Depends how often you are going to use it. Being on my own no point in me having heaps of kitchen gagets to use once in a while.

I used to have a sandwich toaster like that, but I never liked the way British sliced bread doesn't fit. These toasters must be designed for continental breads, which have smaller slices. So now I use a double-sided clamshell style grill which has a much larger cooking area. And British slices work a treat. One way you could maybe improve results with the Prolex toaster is to trim the bread slices to fit prior to toasting. But then you have the crusts/edges left over and I don't like wasting anything with the cost of food being what it is.

Use a toasted sandwich to make a template. Buy some ham slices that are in a flat plastic tray container that supermarkets sell. Take out the ham. Place the sandwich on the empty plastic tray that the ham was in. Using a sharp craft knife carefully cut the tray around the sandwich to make the template. Wash the template. Then eat the sandwich. Then place the template on the bread and carefully cut the bread around the template to cut the bread to size before putting it in the machine. Then there is no excess bread to hinder the closing and latching. Otherwise there is a danger of breaking the latch. After use the template can be washed and reused. Make some toasted ham sandwiches. Enjoy! 😎
