This year ill be traveling all over the state of Texas to find the best chicken fried steak in Texas
This week i am exploring north area of Texas

Simple review:
Steak was nice thickness and a bit tough(a little chewy in spots)
The thickness of the steak was perfect,not to thin and not to thick
Nice thin crispy perfectly light golden brown breading on steak (very very flavorful)
But the breading didnt adhere to the steak very well at all
Gravy was perfect( excellent taste and consistency)
Definitely hand breaded and wasn’t frozen
The size and portion was OK size for lunch
The price was 16.99 and was an awesome deal that included mashed potatoes,corn,cornbread and regular bread
EXTRA POINTS:
The cornbread is to die for
Loved the size and atmosphere of this place, kind,efficient and friendly
The place is actual very inviting and homey,very packed and loud(you cam tell its regular customers that eat here)
I would go back to try other things on the menu,(THE BREAKFAST I DEFINITELY MUST TRY(the meatloaf is amazing here)

I've never eaten at a Blackeye Pea. There's none in our area. Great review! That chicken fried steak looked so good, but when you cut into it, the resistance and breading falling off was a little telling of the outcome. I grew up on chicken fried steak. My grandfather made it for us from scratch along with mashed potatoes and fried corn and a buttermilk with homemade syrup. It was one of the best meals of my life to this day.
