Married couple Patrick and Fasicka Hicks have combined their love of cooking and their cultures to create a unique barbecue experience. Their Arlington, Texas, restaurant, Smoke N Ash, just might be the only Ethiopian Texas barbecue joint on the planet. For The Dish, Jamie Wax has more.

Congratulations 😊. I came from Ethiopia to the U.S. as a kid and grew up in Dallas. I spent much of my teen years in my family's Ethiopian restaurants. I like the experimenting with the flavors of Texas and Ethiopian foods. You never know what's going to be a hit till you try.😊

The ethiopian food is actually mediocre and they treat their employees unfairly. They do not pay overtime wages nor follow FLSA rules. They discriminate but employ less than 15 employees so they cannot be reported to EEOC.

I am discouraged from the dirty restaurant on the dirty kitchen to the really most unhealthy looking Brown fat Grease that was shown if this is eating what is this a show about why not to eat I've been very disappointed and disgusted by the food the look of the food and the look of the dirty restaurant kitchen

Recipe for foul smelling pork cooking in that place smelling nauseating. My wife and i went to Smoke N Ash a few years ago and will never go back. Southern bbq and Ethiopian food doesn't mix. The place looks nice but rank with that foul pork snell.
