One thing that these cooks rarely mention------get a Kitchen-Aid mixer---none of the others seem to have the power and the power adjustment to mix items properly. They're rather pricey but you won't regret the investment.

It looks delicious. My mother's fabulous pineapple custard ice cream would have been great with that beautiful cake. Wish I had some. How well I remember her instructions on proper creaming of butter and sugar. We had to learn it by hand before graduating to the electric mixer. Excellent cakes became easy for us to make when we were still in elementary school. Mother turned a few of us into gourmet-class home chefs.

Chef, your cake looks delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe. You gave the measurements for both the cake and icing, which is a plus for me. So many want to be chefs, often post their videos without giving the complete instructions or temperature. However, I usually let my cakes cool a lot longer when using cream cheese in the icing.

I made this cake last night and it is absolutely the best pound cake I have had since my grandmother passed away.. this cake is amazing.. I love how you talk us through the importance of room temperatures and creaming butter and sugar at length.. I've never creamed them that long and you can tell that made a huge difference.
