OLD SCHOOL LEMON POUND CAKE

I just made this pound cake for Memorial Day weekend for a family gathering. Only thing I knew when it was here and it was gone within 15mins. I’ve never seen a cake go so fast as that delicious and wonderful lemon pound cake. My family loves lemon pound cake as well and I do make pound cakes myself and when I made this I said this will be my go to lemon pound cake the only difference is that I did put lemon and vanilla extract in it and a little more lemon juice in it. Thanks soul food old school for making a easy, simple and flavorful lemon pound cake.❤️

Chef Jeffery your cakes are AwEsOmE!! My family loved it so much they gave me back my mixer and said “You keep it”. I used TWO CUPS of All purpose flour and almost 2 cups of sugar, three eggs and buttermilk. Three tsps of lemon extract, two vanilla, and one tap of almond. The buttermilk was pretty acidic so I sweetened it up with XXX sugar too. It was sooo good. God bless you and your Mom.

Chef Jeffrey, I made my first lemon pound cake and I made the lemon syrup you made! It is wonderful! I haven't baked a cake since college. I was a Home Ec major. I binge on your tutorials on cake making. I almost destroyed my cake because I approached removing it from the two-piece Bundt pan incorrectly. Thank God I saved it! Hey! I enjoyed the video and your cake looks absolutely delicious. I always use more eggs and I too do the sauce thing. Makes for what we use to say in the country a good ole pudding cake. Ohooo boy!! You should still put a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract along with your lemon, that flavor together takes it all the way home. I also prefer no power glaze on mine once I put the sauce on. But I still wished I could have tasted your cake!!!😀💕💕
