Hi Paul, I got an elbow similar to this but less swollen. It doesn’t hurt and I do not have any injury or operation done. What do you think that might be? Can bursitis be painless?
@lexaandclarke3696 Жыл бұрын
Did it get better? If yes, then how?
@Drag8Drop7 ай бұрын
Same for me and it has been for more than 1 year
@turntsnaco8243 ай бұрын
Yes it can be completely painless but it should still be treated.
@turntsnaco8243 ай бұрын
@@Drag8Drop You really need to get it treated if you haven't tried, in the long term it can damage your nerves and affect your ability to use your arm and hand.

Well, I got it , secondary to hitting something....I quickly ended up with a ping pong ball on my elbow. I cut up a pressure sock I had I was not using and voila, I had the perfect pressure bandage for my little ball. After a week, it was gone. I have a little soreness but nothing to be concerned about . Pressure was the key and the ball went away. I feel sorry for the people who get it drained....shish.....why ? an opening to infection and money for the Ortho guy who does it. Oops...sorry....Home sweet home......not a trip to a Dr's office........

After the sac bursts, can it regrow or rejuvenate on its own?

I got it in month of November last year it is healed but when i move elbow while putting on the table , it still feels little hard or little pain, so i need to worry about that.

Will icing gonna help in this case to reduce swelling?
@OrthoEvalPal Жыл бұрын
Contrary to popular belief, ice does not reduce swelling. Ice is a pain reliever.

Hi, thank u for the video. I have cubital tunnel syndrome at my elbow and I was about to go for cortisone injection but beofre that olecranon bursitis occur. I used to wear elbow-splint at night and i feel like may be it caused that. I did ultrasound and it showed less than 1 cc bursitis. It hurts on touch and swellon a bit compared to my other elbow. I have been treating it with hot-salt pack for 10 mins a day. And apllying voltaran. But its not helping. Should I wrap it with band-aid? Apply compression? I am really worried. I am on physiotherapy for by cubital tunnel but now I stopped it becuz of bursitis cuz i am too scared to move my arm. Is it ok to continue with physiotherapy? Also do i need to wait for contisone injection until bursitis heal? Sorry for too many questions. Im bit stressed

I have the same cubital tunnel syndrome for like 9 months now 2 years before I was doing skate and Many times I fell with my elbow. The bad thing now is that the last two weeks the symptoms are getting worse not only I have numb pink finger but I feel weakness in my thumb. Also I already have it on the back of my elbow now if I do the ulnar nerve surgery I'm afraid if will affect the swelling in the olecranon

I just got this and after about 5 weeks the swelling is going down. I practice martial arts. Once it goes away, how long will I have to wait to train again and how likely is it to return?
@OrthoEvalPal Жыл бұрын
As soon as you want but you will want to protect it with a heelbo or something similar

@@OrthoEvalPalthanks. The swelling has pretty much left, but it feels like bones at the top of elbow are raised, like there’s more bones than normal. It’s smooth on my healthy elbow, but my swollen elbow has all these chips and bones in them. Cause for concern?
@OrthoEvalPal Жыл бұрын
@@bburd-jt8os I would have an x-ray, if your olecranon bursitis was caused by direct trauma. Otherwise inflammation in the sack could feel gritty and simulate a broken glass or bone feeling.
@bburd-jt8os Жыл бұрын
@@OrthoEvalPal thank you. Unfortunately I can’t get an X-ray at the moment. If the swelling went down would that mean it’s healing ok? Worried about getting my arm amputated or something
@OrthoEvalPal Жыл бұрын
@@bburd-jt8os if the swelling is going down, that is a good sign. Amputation would be extreme.

pressure bandage.fixed it for me , in a week. All gone ! I wore my pressure wrap 24 hours a day for a week. Got to be careful not to make it too tight or you could mess up the circulation in your lower arm/hand. My old compression sock, cut to fit was perfect and allowed me to use my arm and hand as usual;. I am trying not to bump it again......At least I know how to fix it. At first I thought I had a lipoma but it came too quickly ! and it was sort of sore at the touch. No real pain. Def. bursitis.

You could have something called delayed onset muscle soreness which can last up to 1 week. It should slowly come around with gentle straightening of your arm. If it is not improving in 1-2 weeks, you should see a doctor.

He got a surgery on the shoulder and the effect was on the elbow? Wtf?
@turntsnaco8243 ай бұрын
Because his arm was in a sling after the surgery, which meant keeping his elbow bent, and it was that and the pressure and perhaps even friction of the sling that caused the swelling - not the surgery.
