I was eyeing the MSI 360Hz, but really unsure about 1440p OLED. I really want to go 4k240 OLED, but that means a new deeper desk for 32”, and way more expensive gpu (prob 5080). I’ll decide in January, when RDNA 4 and 5000 series drops. Hopefully 1440p OLEDs continue declining in the meantime.
@fjorddenierbear48323 ай бұрын
I actually am using a 60 cm / 23.6 inch depth desk for my 4k240 OLED. The trick in my case is that I purchased an Asus monitor arm, and I'm very happy with it. The arm allows me to push the display itself very close to the edge of the 60 cm desk. The only caveat, which may be a big one to some, is that the arm extends behind the desk. So, if you'd rather have your desk close to the wall, then I'd suggest getting a larger desk. I'm just gonna stick to this because when moving to another apartment, possibly next year, I'd rather move smaller objects. I definitely would not use a smaller desk than 23.6 inches tho.

You would want to go with 5090 for 4K240HZ OLED if you want to utilize maximum from it trust me. 5090 will have a really good performance jump. Games are really demanding nowdays and with 5090 backed by DLSS if needed, you would be able to enjoy every game in high refreshrate with nice futureproofing supported by DLSS even more. If you go 4K240 OLED than go allin in GPU too, it will be worth.

The image quality will always be subpar to OLED, response times will be leagues behind and power consumption will be huge. However OLED has only two flaws, burn-in and brightness, both of which are getting significantly better (just check phones, older OLEDs would have a lot of burn in and would be very dim, now burn in just doesnt happen in phones and brightness has reached 4000nits peak in some models).

@Vorexia3 ай бұрын
Your RTX 2070 won't be able to do 4K 60Hz on most modern titles I'm afraid, let alone 4K 240Hz. It's more fit to handle 1080p, especially since it's the mobile version. Before committing to 4K 32" 240Hz OLED, I think the unfortunate reality is that you'll have to build a gaming PC or get a prebuilt. I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you can't afford to get a high-end PC, I'd recommend going for a 1440p 27" 240Hz instead. Works pretty well with mid-range PCs. If you have to stick to laptop though, I think the best call would be to abandon the 4K 32" 240Hz OLED dream unfortunately, and instead get a high-end laptop with a 1440p-1800p 120Hz+ OLED panel.

Ideal monitor would be 4K 120Hz OLED HDR1000, KVM, 90W USB-C, 90º rotate. USB-C video in. What's the pricing on these? I don't care if it's monitor or TV so long as i can disable all the "smart", "ai" or "connected" bullshit.

OLEDS and the burn-in headache for old gamers like those who work on their computers for the whole morning and afternoon are no thanks.

Now you pretty much summed up my normal day, and after two years of heavy use, my Samsung g8 ultrawide oled has no burn in.

Maybe the QD-OLEDs' price is going down because compared to glossy OLED TVs and glossy WOLED monitors, they suck.

I wonder why. In 3 months they lose brightness. One time use expensive monitors.

It about time these prices start to drop. The technology has been out long enough, and prices should of dropped a lot sooner.

When will OLED 24" 4K be released for us for $200? How much longer can we wait? I also love an esports player.
@sentryion31063 ай бұрын
Probably never? 4K at 24in is gonna mess with scaling and not that many people want it at that size.
