You're partial to the concept/idea of QDOLED, but you cannot in good conscience look Samsungs flagship and come to the conclusion that it's a better picture or tv. I don't even think any reputable review in existence has rated the S95D higher. Even the A95l, which is allegedly the best TV in the world - is rated equally with the G4 on rtings.The quote un quote "older tech" WOLED on the G4 is brighter, best contrast and comparable color gamut, not to mention the latest gaming tech. I will hold out on QD when more money on R&D is thrown at it with the significance of its potential has actual measurable results that represent a material, distinct separation over a G4
@JBlakeS234 ай бұрын
@@solidsnake7167 the same reviewers placed the G4 last in the tv shoot out and the G series has come in last for three years now. Bright whites is not something special… QDOLED gets just as bright and the colors are almost double as bright without losing their richness. QDOLED has a true RBG additive approach without a white subpixel. Wider color gamut. Higher color luminance. Cleaner near black performance. Gaming on a QDOLED is exponentially better than WOLED. The G4 is a less entertaining experience. LG recognizes they are inferior and are in the process of developing new technology to compete. I have both technologies and right now QDOLED is better.

Actually the S95d looks more accurate because of its QD-Oled tech making the greens warmer/redder compared to the G4 Woled tech making the plant colder bluer and too green which in my opinion stands out more but it’s more unnatural. Both TVs are showing accurate colors but that difference in the Woled tech makes things look different that’s about the only differences in the TVs it comes down to what you prefer the colder Woled sterile tones or the Warmer redder natural tones on the S95d.

Great video as always, hope this is a trend! The s95d does small bright highlights better but in high apl scenes, and some not even, it is not just less saturated but simply washed out. I saw this in the first reviews, strangly mutted at certain times esp certain colors. The s90d is about the same look. One reviewer said this aggressive tonemapping this year may be fixed in an update not exactly a ringing endorsement eh. Thanks for putting a voice to this had thought it was me the difference is stark yet only a couple words were said. I see this stuff does come out now just patience is necessary. Was going with the s90d or s95d but will never ever buy an over 4000 dollar tv that looks that washed in bright colourful scenes from one side of the tv right to the other! Not even rich darkntones just washed light color that is a very odd choice right? Maybe next you can speak on the down low of how the c4 clearly beats them both in many many scenes. So messy! Disect kg's non game portion of his last stream and besides the first 4k nitt material, uncommon material, the c4 very often beats them all or 3 of them. Least the samsungs still do animal faces well. No joke i can give 10 scenes just from memory alone. This is truely truely messy from a consumer pov looking for high color. Ug. Anyway there are more then just a few scenes that blow the other tvs right out of the water. People were thinking if the c4 beats the s90d then then the g4 would be even greater...nope not so at all with concistency, again different tonemapping i guess. We need someone to consisely address where the c4 seems to beats the tar out of even its own flagship let alone the s series and lend thier own trusted voice and opinion to it. Yall said dont have expectations and wait for the next s series and i did not listen!

Brian - the Samsung S95D doesn't have full bandwidth HDMI ports unfortunately - they are only 40GBPS, not 48. DSC is fine, but it adds the black screen every time you tab in and out of games if you're playing in fullscreen mode.

Yeah, that's a good question. The ability to use an image adjustment in the LG menu might be just the tool you/we need. Both are great tvs, so I don't see any of us turning down either at a discount price. Sony is probably the one out of the mix because they are standing pat and their models always carry a premium price and I own one. But that was a black Friday deal and before OLEDs became better values and bright enough for daytime viewing.

Choose one mode, and take time to play with every line regarding Contrast, Brighness Color... This is the best way to get your favorite settings. It sure takes time, but when done it properly, you'll be ready for years to come (4k streaming is becoming the norm) and you'll just have to slightly change minus modifications like cold/warn/expert for color according the movie/serie you watch. I'm not a fan of pro calibration. Self calibration 💪

Will the 83inch tv be less sharper than the 65 due to the PPI? Hoe does the G4 65 compare to the 83? Please advise

A smaller display will always yield a sharper image due to pixel density my friend. However the 83 G4 is super sharp with the new Alpha 11 processor.

I’ve had 2 previous LG OLED (not sure of the model “) but I watch Fox News all the time and I get about 2-3 years then image retention. Looking at the 77” G4 or the Sony Bravia 9. I’m just curious if everyone else is experiencing the burn in and Im image retention like I am with the LG brand.

Everything I own is Samsung (laptops, Monitors, phones etc.) but I think I'll still go with G4. It seems it is much more accurate, S95D is brighter but not in a good way. To my surprise, in some instances the G4 had even more pop in the colors.
@kineahora87368 ай бұрын
A lot o these comments are frankly silly fan-boy remarks. Both TVs are really, really good. A lot of controversy on the S95 comes down to people having overly strong opinions about the anti-reflective coating. I think both TVs look very, very good. Just looking at a bunch of pictures I would probably choose the G4 if everything else were equal. But everything else is not equal : I want support for Spectrum TV app without having to use third-party devices, and I want a VERY thin panel because I’m planning to mount the TV flush with some adjacent thin mirrors on my wall. Both of those issues require that I buy the S95. I kind of wish I could get the G4., but I think the Samsung will be very nice and it happens to be slightly cheaper than the G4 right now after price reductions- presumably because initial market reaction was that the G4 is the best…

Yeah! Honestly, anyone would be happy with these TVs. We should be happy that both these manufacturers are pushing each other to make great TVs. Competition is good in this space!

You raise some good points. I own a Samsung and they make good tvs, but they don't make an 83 inch and they don't have a 5yr warranty.. Of course, price is always a consideration. My bet is LG will adjust to the marker prices.
@kineahora87368 ай бұрын
@@davidoconnell4433 yeah actually my plans might be changing where I don’t need the thin panel so I might get a 55 G4… not sure yet. Current setup has TV in the wall behind a 1-way mirror which is obviously ridiculously reflective and steals some light-but it will cost effort and money to change it and it looks good in the room. So I had been considering changing it around and going with a very thin 65 with no mirror. But maybe a 55 G4 behind the mirror and better shades..,

Great video! I took a look at both and tried to see what ya'll are saying about G4 being more detailed but when i look close with video paused on several pieces of content on each is that g4 just seems to have sharpness baked in higher by default not actually showing "more detail". Overall tho as stated here both neck & neck...minor reasons to choose one over other. I decided to stick with s90c until we get true 4000nit version. Prolly g6 and s95f is my guess. g6 is perfect name for a 4000nit beast , LOL Love your chill articulate presentation :)

@mayday68803 ай бұрын
S95D has a slightly magenta color touch, you can see this here 15:58 ...I think it's QD technology based. On the other hand, the G4 has a software bug; all green subpixels lighten very slightly, even a shown Image contains zero green. Maybe the G4 problem could be fixed with a FW update, the magenta thing of the S95D probably not. But it's not tragic, you can hardly see it, it's only noticeable in a direct comparison, but if you are highly sensitized on that now like me, then you suddenly see it 😅
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY3 ай бұрын
@@mayday6880 the Magenta tint is only visible on camera when compared to WRGB oleds. The camera sensor picks it up.

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY It's much more noticeable on the camera image but it's physically there, check forums it's a topic there. It's due to the QD panel known thing, but it's so weak that most people don't notice it unless you pay close attention to it
