Olive Nymph Skin Klinkhamer

Another version of klinkhåmer, two ways to tie body. Fat one like caddis pupae and thinner one like mayfly. Whichever one you choose it will catch you fish in all situations when your fly matches size and colour of insects around.
Dont be afraid to use it even in deeper spots because fish will rise and take it with no problem.... Low riding flies are great fish catchers.

Thanks, that video was done in honour of the Hans and his fly. I personally do things a bit differently. And sometimes i change.... I dont have always the same method... I love to change.

I like better the slimmer body for klinghammers. I have fat ones in my box but never caught anything with them on my waters. Nice looking fly with the slim stretching rubber body. Thank you for the good tips you share.

Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. I usually make slim body. Its mostly because Hans makes it that way.... I like fat bodies for pupaes, but for klinks, same as you.... Slim.....

To start GSP type thread on the hook I wax the thread to prevent slippage. I do the same when tying off the head of the fly but do put a dab of super glue on the thread when tying off.

That's true. By now i developed lazy habit to use a bit more wraps to start it all.... For the head i dont use superglue. Never had it undone. Did you have it undone before?

Oholi - put some super glue on the hook before attaching thread, more secure foundation - will never slip

Do you think that ice peacock one? With fine fibers? IIRC-what does it stand for?

If it is that peacock dubbing, royal sissi, search on aliexpres.... I live in china so i use local online shops. Its around one usd per bag i think.

Question: I noticed in this video you used quite a few wraps of thread preparing the post as opposed to only a few wraps for the Kilnkhamer. Can you explain the reason for the difference please?

Thank you for such kind words in another comment. Appreciate it 😃😃🍻 As for the number of wraps its mostly because i used different technique. Here i folded yarn over the hook shank so i needed more wraps to tighten it. Also, this hook is larger so i need more wraps of hackle hence more wraps along the parachute base... I needed it taller... (rigid part covered with thread) I dont have preferred method... I use both ways when tying... Its just which ones comes to my mind first that one i use.... And when i need thinner body i would use method from this video...
