Grew up on Army bases in the south then we moved to Detroit. My heart ached. I joined the Army and went back south for my training. Ahhh...I was home. First duty station was in upstate NY. SMH left the Army, went back to Detroit and got a job in a plant, worked at a nuke then at a coal burner for 31 yrs. Now, I'm back down south...home again, kept it simple my entire life, just laughed at those looking down their noses at that simple Man wearing his overalls, raising and showing bulldogs. All the while I put my money away and invested in myself. Was forced to retire, took my Wife, my bulldogs and my money back home...back south...to the pines and the sloughs. God has blessed me and mine...

Seeing the German Shepherd silhouette got me. I have a German shepherd dog, his name is Sampson. I almost lost him at age seven weeks and change. He had intractable seizures, the breeder blamed me due to giving him too much water and no food. I brought him to the dog emergency room, the vet told me I probably should put him down, and told me how much it could cost to keep him alive if he might be able to make it. I never hesitated and told her (the vet) I won’t give up on him. Before when I handed him over to the ER, in precious few seconds, I talked to my sick seizing pup, and told him to fight and I’d be there in the morning, and if he couldn’t make it, I’d understand. I prayed all night. He was put in to a coma, eventually he pulled out in the morning. My eyes weep to this day if ever I talk about it, he’s over 5 years old now. I’ve had dogs all my life, Sampson is a miracle, and has an intelligence and heart I praise God for whenever I see it. My friend in Christ, Oliver, as your Grandfather graces your steps I pray, be not afraid! You have beautiful dogs and I believe His grace including His angels are around you. May Jesus the Christ keep you and all of us in his Sacred Heart. Do Good work! Be not afraid!

I have been tasked with trying to send a message to Chris. I’m a sinner and no saint, and I have drifted through somewhat of an unremarkable life to get to this point here. Along the way I have struggled and prayed for guidance and discernment, seeking out truth and wisdom. Continually thrust forward, waiting for a response, I wandered through life watching as the world decends further into chaos. But this isn’t about me. It was put in my heart to send you a series of verses. Isa 11:6, Jer 31:33, Joel 2:28, Eze 12:2, Dan 12:3, Mat 5:16, Mat 28:18-20, Isa 65. After trying to procrastinate and ignore the calling, it was made clear to me that this was not something to ignore and the urgency of the hour would not wait. So I prayed, thought about my task, put my faith in the Lord, and began to type. Side note, This is actually the second time I’ve tried to do this. As I was getting ready to hit send on the first draft my phone dies and the message was lost. Instead of giving up I went back through everything in my head and decided to try again but to condense and focus only what was important (the Word), and what I was called to do. I don’t claim to know or understand God’s plan for my life, but I do know that when my time comes, and I am asked, “what did you do when I called you?” I want to say, “here I am, I heard you calling me and I came to you.” I hope that my ramblings don’t dissuade you, but that the core message finds its mark. In Jesus name, Amen.
