My brother named my niece, Bonnie Jean. He loves this song. She is now 53 yrs old. We called her Bonnie Jean when she was younger, now most people call her Jean. For me and my girls she's still and always be Bonnie Jean.😊

The fall of 69 was a great time; I met the love of my life!!! I was on top of the world!!! But in the spring of 70, it all came crashing in. She was going away to college that year and she didn't want to be tied down and told me we were through...😱 😳🥺😭💔💔 I survived, but never fully recovered... This song keeps bringing it all back!!!

I was driving a limo and picked up John Swofford, who was the commissioner of the ACC. This was his brother, who had passed away at a young age from cancer. John had donated bone marrow to try and save his life, but he died in 2000. I knew these things, and I knew about Oliver because growing up, my older sisters had his albums. I could tell it meant a tremendous amount to John that I brought up his brother, instead of just talking about ACC basketball, which is why he was in Charlotte. What a beautiful voice…

Yes, it's where I live. William "Oliver" Swofford's family owned Swoffords a store here in the 70s & later were part of the Hardees chain.He used to visit the radio station where I used to DJ a lot. Was a a real nice guy!
