Honestly. Stephen is bad in a lot of interviews with "controversial" figures. He ALWAYS plays the interview safe by playing "Devil's Advocate". Stephen Colbert is often ''confrontational'' with guests that bring political luggage with them. It's not just Stone. This is a good thing. He plays the devil's advocate, so you think of the issues from more than one perspective. This is why I value his interviews.

A lot of people are saying Colbert was fishy during the interview, I agree he was, but at the end of the day, he's just an entertainer, not a seeker of truth and justice, he isn't Malcom X but rather Ed Sullivan. His job is to promote the guest and make people laugh. Clearly Oliver Stone was being shut down.
