Oliver was attacked by a cat!

Oliver had a surprising encounter with a cat in the park yesterday. But don't worry, he's perfectly fine!
Also, we know that stray cats do not have easy lives. Please consider donating to your local animal shelter, so that stray cats who want to live with humans can find a forever home.

Cats are also animals. I think I have a chart somewhere... I'm badly allergic to cats but I still stroke them when I see them . Cats are assholes, and great, and friendly or angry. They have little personalities. A cat that attacked a dog three times bigger than it is a hero. I'd still spritz it with water. BUT a hero.

I am happy and relieved to hear that Oliver wasn't hurt badly from being scratched on his back, feral cats can be unpredictable to say the least. One thing that I learned from watching this is that wind guards can make great substitute toys, also I thoroughly enjoy watching Oliver rolling in the grass . 😊

As someone who loves both dogs *and* cats, I'm sorry to hear about the stray cat situation in the SF Bay area. I hate it when people just dump cats (or dogs) to fend for themselves. It's cruel. I'm glad that Oliver emerged unscathed. When it's cat vs. dog, cats usually win; they really know how to administer a smackdown!

The best solution is probably just to make sure that feral cats have their own space so they don't feel threatened. We've donated to our local animal shelter and hope that they will be able to help the stray cats who live in our neighborhood.
