She came here at five from England and has been U.S based since the early 70s. She preserved her Aussie accent really well though and helped promote Australia's image as a representative. A lot of our so called Aussie stars aren't Australian born either. Russell Crowe -kiwi, Naomi Watts -English, Guy Pierce -English, Hugh Jackman -both parents English but born in Sydney. So much for home grown talent huh? We excel at aspiring to live a materialistic comfortable enough middle class level of existence but not so much in reaching for the stars. Paul Hogan mainly succeeded through luck and getting discovered early on at the right time. He now lives in the U.S because that's a better place to be rich in and remain relatively anonymous. He'd never be left alone here, just see what happened in Byron Bay with the pathetic Australian media all over him and Linda Kozlowski.
